I really wanted to see Kaboom. Looks like I’ll have free time in the evening of that day (I’ve already seen a Serbian Film and have no desire to watch it again) but I’ll come back for The Loved Ones
I would rather be hated every damn day of my life for being real than loved for being something I'm not...

The site has now changed to this:

1.00 - ANDY NYMAN'S QUIZ FROM HELL
+ FILM4 FRIGHTFEST INTERNATIONAL
SHORT FILM SHOWCASE
4.00 - WE ARE WHAT WE ARE
6.30 - DAMNED BY DAWN
9.00 - A SERBIAN FILM
11.30 - THE LOVED ONES
I would rather be hated every damn day of my life for being real than loved for being something I'm not...

Alan's also just posted a new blog detailing the reasons behind Kaboom's withdrawl.

Shame, I was looking forward to that one, sounded very different from the other films on offer.
First things first, stay calm.

My friend paid for a day pass specifically to see Kaboom! He's going to be absolutely gutted.

Now who fancies trading places with me and telling him because I really don't want to have to do that.......
Have you heard of my friends capital letter and comma?

No? Well perhaps you should try them sometime... correct usage will do wonders for your social life.

Just read the blog, in a way I'm glad 'cause I was really looking forward to Kaboom and was initially dissapointed it got dropped ... but, if that is Araki's attitude, sod him. It is very strange though, because who does he think actually watches his films? I mean, I first got recommended Doom Generation on alt.horror back in the late 90s & his stuff seems tailor made for an intelligent genre loving audience ... ahh well.

Oh well, it's his loss, not ours.

I've seen Damned by Dawn - it's a good flick. And the director came to the US when it showed at Screamfest LA to do Q&A and such - obviously he doesn't have a problem with "geeks" watching his movie.

Yeah I must say I'm very surprised at everyones lack of enthusiasm about the replacement, I think it looks amazing.

Well, it's not the first time - Claire Denis pulled TROUBLE EVERY DAY from one of the early Fests because she didn't want it associated with a horror festival. Saw it a few years later on video and it's a load of toss. (Pun intended.)
