Very happy with the line-up this year. Looks to be a good diverse range of films. Interestingly there are no 3D films!

I could only find this world premiere video with random pictures of the film, enjoy!

yeah thats all I could find, strange as this is playing all the major festivals.

as for Serbian Film , hmmmm, seems to be very polarizing. One critisicm I have read of it is that although the film makers have been claiming it as a metaphor for what has happened in serbia over the years but these guys come from wealthy backgrounds in belgrade and really have no expierence of the harsh realities of their country. I am not sure how true it is but using that as an excuse will give you a free pass all the way , in a way that someone like Eli Roth could never have used for Hostel? These horror geeks have made a film that supposedly pushes boundaries, and now they are being pulled up on one or two scenes seem to be saying 'it's not a horror film it's a look at how fucked up our country is'......

I wonder if a film like this should even be shown at frightfest as it just plays into that 'horror fans are depraved' daily mail shit. What are people feeling about this?

To be honest I really dislike the torture porn sub genre to horror so I'm truly considering giving this one a miss... Yeah horror isn't known for it's story lines but at least attempt one rather than going for the punch to the gut without any substance behind it.

I think this will be the only film I read up on but as a blogger can I really miss out on one of the most controversial films of the year?

No! Absolutely not my kind of film - and I get an early night too :P I won't be watching that other similar sounding film too

Hmm. There appears to be one more film I have to miss due to the schedule
Cherry Tree Lane
Christopher Roth
Red White & Blue

Anyone else have that dilema, which one are you skipping & why? I know next to nothing about all 3 and don't really want to watch any more trailers incaes of spoilers. :)

Think I'll be giving Kaboom and Cherry Tree Lane a miss to watch Chrisotpher Roth and Amer, main reason being it seems i'll be getting a high dosage of violence and gore this year, i fancy something a little different as a minor change. Plus I've been hearing good things about Amer.

A serbian film is really fucked up from what ive heard & there's one scene that is so disturbing that I certainly wont be watching that scene it disturbed me no end's when I heard about it.

Wish they'd stuffed a couple of 'mainstream' horror movies in there actually.. Halloween 3, Saw 7, anything to brag about to my buddies back home :) And nothing 3D in there, oh well, there's always Piranha a week before :)

If FrightFest went down that route, how would you feel if they shied away from something you wanted to see?

Payne wrote:Looks like a good line-up, shame I can't attend this year, A combination of family bereavement, ill health and too many missed deadlines already this year (including something I promised Rawshark, no I haven't forgotten and yes, it is on my list of things to do) means I would be remiss in my duty if I took off for a week to get drunk and watch movies.

So sink a few for me and hopefully I'll see you somewhere down the line.
Ah, that's a shame Payne! You will be missed - especially the late-night bar-time drunken discussions...
Sure you can't make it down for a day at least? Reckon Sunday suits your tastes on all levels..

(I can waiver your promise if it helps!) :D

I like the line up this year, the ones I'm looking forward to the most are

(1) Monsters
(2) Isle of Dogs
(3) Red White and Blue
(4) Eggshells
(5) Dead Cert

The one i don't want to see is The Last Exorcism, becuase I can't stomach hand held camera films, I feel like S*** after them!
But I do think A Serbian film is a film to see, get the t-shirt and say never again, a bit like The Girl Next Door, I noticed this had been released a few weeks ago and wondered how many from frightfest 07 rushed out and bought it?

Two I will be missing and hopefully slipping into the Discovery Screen are The quiz and short films and the Video Nasty Doc.

I really like the look of Amer and Outcast - so that works great!

But overall I'm really looking forward to the whole event!

(Must remember to talk to more people!!!)

I'm feeling that I don't have a certain film that I'm looking out for, which I'm kind of happy with as I'll be more open to good suprises.

I guess Monsters would be one, also I will probably look to try and get the early Burning Bright showing. It's a shame the escape from vampire island isn't on a late night showing in the main scene.
