Well a different view-point says: http://anutshellreview.blogspot.com/201 ... world.html

The positive things I've heard about 'Primal' far outweigh the negative - at least so far. In the last few years even the most mediocre of the Australian horror films (as demonstrated by stuff like 'Acolytes' and 'Lake Mungo') have an interesting glint in them somewhere to be worth a look.

I, for one, am very curious about 'Primal' and I'd like to say I found it rather disconcerting that the author of the bloody disgusting review tied the Australian horror resurgence just to Greg Mclean's two films - as anyone who follows Australian genre stuff not just through Frightfest but also through The Australian Film Festival and Raindance Indepence Film Festival will know that Greg Mclean is an important figure in terms of bringing the genre cinema to the fore BUT by no means the only director/producer/writer/actor doing it so.

Bloody Disgusting have been wrong before. I try to avoid reading reviews and watching trailers prior to seeing something at FrightFest (not that I'm critical of anyone who dies, it's a personal choice). But Voor is right, there's way more to Aussie horror than Greg McClean.

Any chance of some clarification on the timing for the quiz and short films? jonbly really wants to see the latter, and has zero interest in the former...

EDIT: Ah, it's in the programme. Quiz at 1, shorts at 1:30.
