Glad to see BURNING BRIGHT getting some love... Step Up 2 vs a Tiger!!! Plus Meat Loaf! I can't wait, I just wish it was on the main screen.

Which reminds me, I need to start making an itinerary...

I'm actually really looking forward to hatchet 2 now... :)

I wasn't a fan of the first, I saw it's charm though but I'm just not into that type of slasher... however, hearing Adam speak about it... I'm actually really stoked, I'm a Harris fan as well so you know :D I'm just easily pleased...

My interview with Adam will be going up on Dog Ate My Wookie tonight... be warned it's a LONG interview but I enjoyed every second of reading it... :P The man is driven!!

I think it's a mockumentary - some of the cast are pretty well known (Chris Marquette - Infestation, Kristen Bell - Forgetting sarah Marshall)

Good choices Nekro.

I hear We Are what We Are is getting good reviews - arty, but if Amer's on your list, you might want to check that out.
Hearing good things on F, The Loved Ones and Red, White and Blue too..
It's horrible... I love it... What is it?

Obviously there are {{{ 6 }}} must see movies at this year's Frighfest (but as I am one of the few who adored last year's -now wiped from the memory and the forum's memory too- amazing Argento movie, Giallo, you may differ in opinion...!!!)

We Are What We Are
Amer
Video Nasty
Bedevilled
Monsters
I Spit On Your Grave

only going to these at moment, but may be swayed!!

..and I'm LEAST looking forward to those annoying marketing types who turn up at each movie in their Primark suits, silky and shiny, clutching folders, looking totally bored and wanting to rush home to have microwave din dins with hubby, but they have been paid to attend by the boss so they do, and anyway - there's a free glass of bubbly on offer, so long as your lipstick doesn't smudge the fine glass. Is it just me who hates boring PR people at Frightfest?? Just let us have the movies - I want to watch the films I'm most looking forward to, with absolutely NO suits, unless they are not wearing suits and carry no clipboard, then I can forgive!!! This is a festival for real fans, horror fanatics, a fantastic clever crowd - PR is important, and yes, it's how we get the films up there for everyone to see, we have to scratch backs, but please - keep the fluff low-key:))

I can assure you dt, apart from the first night, I will be wearing jeans and t-shirts and will absolutely not have a clipboard at any point! :D

What are you wearing on the first night though?

I've decided to do a survey - how many PR ladies in suits (especially pinstripe) holding clipboards there are, and how many men in Primark suits holding clipboards there are too!! I then propose we write a really nasty film script where all these PR people who look bored and stupid get held in a metal-walled room under Charing Cross station and have just 5 hours to escape before being flattened by a giant hammer. Only those who strip down to their underwear, ditching bothy suits and clipboard, and escaping through old sewer tunnel, avoiding ancient cannibalistic cavemen, get to make it to Frighfest 2011:)) That's the film I'm most looking forward to....

I worry sometimes that Film 4 sponsorship could kill off Frighfest now that Film4 has gone all mainstream, back in the day of subscription only, the films were challenging and provocative, now they are more romcom than anything else, why can't we get a more horror-based channel to be the face of Frighfest - what horror fan digs Film4 anymore apart from corporate PR types. Frighfest is still a provocative fest - and presumably films like I Spit will be the uncut versions, but the Film4 logo just reminds me of corporate niceness!! Still, they have the money and are very supportive, without them, we maybe wouldn't exist.....it's a double edged sword.

Yep dt, you have to remember that without the 'PR types', there probably wouldn't be any movies for the films fans to watch and the festival wouldn't be what it is, so don't moan too much about it - just deal with it internally and don't let it spoil your festival, I say :)

I don't think I've ever seen a pinstripe (or otherwise) suit at FrightFest, with the exception of opening night (where smart evening wear is wholeheartedly encouraged), and in my experience, Film industry professionals (PR or not) definitely don't spend most of their time wearing suits! (it's a much more casual affair)...
