Bournemouth's British Horror Film Festival announces first UK public uncut screening of A Serbian Film on 30th October at Midday.

Now, I realise this is the day of the Frightfest all-nighter, but with a midday screening, it does still allow time to head back to London post-screening and get back for the start of the all-nighter...

I'd like to know how many films shown at Frightfest had NOT been seen by the BBFC before hand and as I'm expecting that to be most of them could it be that A SERBIAN FILM came to attention because of the immanent distribution/release by Revolver?

I am also about to scream at the thought that the press and film critics would be regarded ad being more suitable to a see a film than the paying public. FU Westminster Council.

Not making it easy for us with the All Nighter on the same night - but hey, it will sort out the really keen fans from the rest!!
Looking at train tickets now.... hope I don't get a "raindance rejection" when I get there!

Yes, very aware of this hoohah..

Here's today's news;
http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/8 ... urnemouth/

Unbelievable to be honest. Despite the Council initially agreeing to show any film, seems the reputation of A Serbian Film has spread across the "council-network" of the UK. What is doubly unbelievable is that Cllr David Kelsey in this article is publicly admitted to illegally downloading the film!

The film has now unfortunately been pulled as we can't guarantee that the cut version of the film will be classified in time for the screening... :(

Can't the BBFC give this an R18 and let Revolver sell it direct from their website? I bet they'd rake it in!

The film can't be rated R18 as it is not a "sex work". Also extreme violence is not allowed in R18's and any sex must be consensual.

Outside of festival screenings it would be interesting to see if it would get passed the OFLC. They did pass I Spit remake uncut but Serbian is probably much stronger.

Showing Serbian film in the outdoors in the early afternoon? I can just imagine all the old ladies and little children's faces.
