FrightFest Halloween event to host world premiere of Bad Meat
30 September, 2011 | By Wendy Mitchell

Acclaimed UK genre festival Film4 FrightFest is launching a new Halloween event (on Oct 29) at London’s Vue West End, with screenings from 6 pm until dawn.

The films will include the world premiere of Lulu Jarmen’s splatter film Bad Meat, about a camp for troubled teens where fascists used spoiled meat for evil purposes. The Canadian film stars Elizabeth Harnois, Dave Franco, Mark Pellegrino, Tahj Mowry & Jessica Parker Kennedy.

The screening night also offers the UK premiere of French thriller Livid by Julie Maury and Alexandre Bustillo starring Beatrice Dalle as a caregiver who arrives in a house where she encounters the supernatural.

Another French director, Julien Magnat offers the UK premiere of his US project Faces In The Crowd, a giallo-style thriller starring Milla Jovovich.

Also on offer as UK premires are Cold Sweat from Argentina’s Adrian Garcia Bogliano, and Matt L Locklhart’s The Watermen starring Jason Mewes. Jen Moss’ short The Morning After, starring Kate Nash, will also be included in the programme.

Tickets go on sale Oct 1. A midnight film will be announced later.

The programme will also be repeated at Bristol’s Watershed on Nov 4.

Bit disappointed with the line up. Really wish The Thing prequel was playing (can't believe there's 2 months between the US and UK releases, if it's shit they're digging their own grave, so hopefully that's not the case. I have hope). Woman In Black might be a possibility, being British and Hammer etc. I'd be happy with that. Not sure what the legality is, but I'd be happy to see Human Centipede 2 without having to download it. Probably wouldn't be so happy afterward, still be glad, my curiosity is killing me!

Livid anf Faces In The Crowd look good, haven't really heard of the rest. Hopefully it'll be better than last year's rather dissappointing all nighter...would read more on it if the website hadn't turned into the Srathspey Steam Railway :?

No and on the phone line they'd never heard of it.

He went to check with a supervisor who said there is a delay getting the booking open so just keep trying...

They said schedules go up on Tuesdays but I told them these are to go onsale at midday today. Reckon there's just a delay. Just hope there aren't more than 400 at the Vue buying them but I doubt it.
