8/10 - Pretty solid, but lacking that extra spark to make it special.

Not the most spectacular end film ever, but I enjoyed it, liked the cinematography and if Frightfest has ever taught us something, it's never fcuk with a Serbian ;)

Stunning scenery but when that is all that I find memorable about a film then that is not a good sign.

Very disappointed as I was expecting something a lot better.

I was expecting a rock-climbing movie, but very glad at the twists and turns it took... liked it a lot.

I found the music to be very distracting and unnecessary. When shooting in the outdoors (especailly the river scenes) I think just natural sounds would have been better than a bombastic soundtrack.

Unevenly paced too but it was an ok way to end the festival.

Great when they were in the wild, but went downhill fast when they got to the village. Had to laugh at the policeman, who faced with a kidnap and triple murder seemed more worried about making a pot of tea.

first half was really good. taut, tense and scary. didn't like the second half when it left the wilderness and got all shooty, got bored. didnt have any interesting twists or motives for kidnapping etc. rather formulaic and dull in my opinion.

One of the best for me this year, was nice to have a break from the buckets of misogyny.

It was alright, wasn't it?

This was a very strange film to close a Horror and Fantasy festival though. VERY STRANGE. HMMM. I'm not sure that I fully understand the term "genre film", as it seems to be used by different people to prove a multitude of different arguments, but I'm pretty sure this isn't one. Please educate me if I'm wrong. Otherwise, how will I ever learn?

I was expecting a straightforward mountaineering-ordeal movie, or just possibly an above-ground version of The Descent. Certainly not a kidnap/manhunt thriller.

But I thoroughly enjoyed it, it worked very well. The Southern Comfort comparison was a good one.

I agree that it's debatable whether it was a "true" Frightfest film, but we've had an awful lot of thrillers with very few horror/fantasy elements over the years (including my all-time favourite Frightfest film, A Bittersweet Life).

Liked it, good visual style, not boring, good actors some good moments.

About that "genre" thing. Frightfest (unfortunately for me) has been moving away from the classical Horror thing into that whole hipsterisch "A gripping thriller can be Horror too!" thing, combined with (again unfortunately) that huge focus on UK films this year, this is probably why this was shown as the closing film.

I wanted to like this one, but was very disappointed.

SPOILERS:

How Melissa George's character survived that fall at all, let alone possessed the ability to swim and then do some cross country running is probably only known by the director. Someone else broke their leg but managed to run for a bit afterwards!

Tell your friend their husband is dead by pretending to slit your throat instead of waiting to speak to them later - hilarious!

Villains who one minute can execute a perfect headshot from across a valley suddenly find themselves repeatedly missing from close range! Two rifles jamming at the same time?!

A policemen who responds to a murder and kidnapping case by leaving voicemails and making tea?!

It was a shame; the actors did their best and the cinematography was wonderful - but I thougth it was a shame to end a brilliant FrightFest on this fim.

Hahaha, yeah, that bit was just hilarious. First you see him tumbling down a steep hill, even more so with the little girl, hitting trees, stones, whatnot, breaking (at least from the sound of it) his leg and not 10secs later he is all up and running and reuniting with our main actress.

First I also thought this was stupid but after thinking about it it makes sense:
Slitting your throat is a well understood gestures, especially as a distance. Even more so if you consider that she knows he was murdered (as the rope was cut) and, as such, could send sort of a warning to the other guys.
