A little off topic

Slightly odd question but is their anyone who goes to Frightfest who doesn't drink, there is a serious reason behind this.

I'm tea total, and I often need a good cup during the first screening of every day.

Same here. Usually stick to rubicon mango or passion fruit.

Might have the occasional pint or spirit, but I personally find that I need energy drinks to keep me going through as many films as possible ... especially the late-nighters.
I know one year, when FF was at the Odeon, I think it was partly sponsored by an energy drink. Rockstar I think...

I don't drink at the festival.

But sadly end up drinking a ridiculous amount of caffeine and eating a bit too much haagen dazs than I should ;0)

It's such a great atmosphere.

I drink at the festival. I think on the Sunday or Monday last year I had quite a few vodka oranges from the Empire bar.

Why are you interested?

I drink but overdid it a bit last year and fell asleep a couple of times. This year I will limit myself, that's the plan anyway but I've quit smoking so I will need to do something during the breaks.

Neither me nor my other half dnky666 drink during the festivals (or in between), all of our disposable income go on comics! We had a bad experience about 4 years back with some people directly behind us who basically ruined a number of the late night films with their noisy drunken antics, but apart from them have not noticed many people that worse for wear. Why do you ask? :D

I dont normally drink alcohol during the festival, as i dont want to be needing to pee every 20 minutes.
I do drink alot of caffeine however, to deal with the tiredness.

I'm working through a drink addiction issue and the last few years at FF there have been times I nailed it on the booze, usually prior to leaving HHH in the mornings. It has become a serious issue over the last year but my drinking always was happening at times when I was on my own with no one checking up on me and 5 days away from home was perfect for this.

I'm just trying to see who else is a none drinker and by keeping their company it gives me less incentive to drink as I am not just being by myself which is where a lot of the temptation to get p*ss*d was coming from.

I don't touch the stuff either. I don't have a problem with it; I just don't drink.

Hi Kris, sorry to hear you have troubles with drinking, and glad to know that you are beating the bottle.

In honesty, I drink like a f**king fish- I've even got a g&t on the go as I type this, as it happens.

But, apart from the odd pint between films in the evening (only one or two at most), and a stiff scotch after the Empire experience of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I don't really drink at FF, and I'm not that sure many people do. Is there that much opportunity?

Anyway dude, if you want someone to keep an eye on you, I'll do it. Come up and say hello: I'll be there for most of the weekend. I'm the very camp looking little Cantonese guy!

That's a wise thing do , great that you are upfront about as I'm sure you can find some folks to hangout with ..as far away from temptation as possible.

I do drink but not too much as experience tells me I end up missing some of the films I travel to FF to see.

Amen to that brother (except not entirely for me as I quite like a boozy do, and I also like a quiet drink in between films, but I feel the sentiment).

Guys, I think we should try to band together to help Kris. I for one will not drink in front of you my friend.

We are just at the end of your row, we tend not to move much between films except for a sneaky chinese from the usual place, so please do come say hi and chat to us if things get tough - or even if they don't! Stay strong, many of us have had demons to battle, so we understand :D
