Really enjoyed this one, particularly the lead performance. Let down a bit by an unconvincing fight scene in front of the piggies, though, which pulled jonbly out of it.

Also, there's a golden rule of fiction that any story is allowed one implausible coincidence. But this girl just keeps knocking on the wrong doors...

A game of two halves.
The first part was quite harrowing, and yet almost sensitive, and I'd rather have had that continue until a quick shot of vengeance at the end. As it was, the second half was a reasonable example of the genre "Hard Blokes chase chicks, who really should not be able to survive". But yon welsh chappy in the Q&A must have watched a different film.

Yeah, tell Jonbly he's right about the piggies scene.
How many "They have not really escaped" endings do we need? I count 19 so far this year and I have only seen 6 films.

The best film of the Festival so far...
but the porcelain piggy scene can be edited out entirely and this will surely improve the storyline.
I wonder why the director is blindsighted by this ill-fitting scene.

Liked it, would recommend it too

Excellent movie, although I'd agree that the loss of the aforementioned piggy-house scene would improve the film overall.

I loved the claustrophobic setting of the house itself and felt some concern when they started running around the Balkan countryside - however, the final factory location paid some handsome dividends, firstly when all the burly workers slunk away to leave Angel to her fate, and secondly when Sean P met his comeuppance.

It's hard to imagine the progressively bleaker future instalments of the trilogy hock:

Thought this was poor with cod accents (Sean Pertwee) and looked like a council estate as a location...

True Fact: After Uxbridge played the part of The Balkans in this, I was tempted to ask the Cockneys Vs Zombies guys how they managed to get Uxbridge to look like the East End. Glad I didn't though.

The best opening film sine Eden Lake imo, nasty and gritty but very well done.

It was stretching it a bit to believe the tiny girl could have overpowered and killed all those huge guys, but still that was no reason for that knob to say "I was unconvinced. Can it be re-cut?" in the Q&A.

That was hilarious - I'm not even sure that dude saw the film... I think he just wandered in and was having a laugh.

Excellent opening film, with a strong, realistic story set during the Balkans conflict. A superb debut performance from Rosie Day in the lead role, while Paul Hyett does a fine job on his directorial debut too. Very dark, but not as brutal as "Martyrs", with good use made of hidey-holes! Some effective dream-like sequences also added to the atmosphere. 8 / 10

Very good opening film and really thought this got the fest off to a good start.

Lead actress was simply awesome.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Seasoning House.
A very grim film with disturbing subject matter.
Rosie Day was outstanding in the lead role,very impressed.

Very well made and acted film.

I felt this too sagged in the middle and I felt more could have been made of Angel's character crawling about the house.

Bit too much man-ass in it for me too.

I liked the ambiguous ending(s) too.

Even though at times made uncomfortable viewing. Did enjoy this one. At the times the accents were amusing and the young girl was excellent. Having a character who was deaf and mute added suspense to this film. Also some rather good deaths as well.

While watching it did remind me of a couple of scenes from Taken.
