Sorry to be a bitter cynic here, but what part of 'Tickets go onsale at 9AM' actually translates to 'Tickets go onsale in the middle of the night so that people who work normal hours are going to be left with shit selection when they wake up'?

Also, I have to express slight disappointment at the lineup, especially after last year's all-time low. Over a third of the programme is a combination of documentary, restoration and TV show (admittedly, probably the things I'm most looking forward to), plus a dreck title from last year's Discovery screen and the majority of the rest of the lineup being stuff that's been knocking about for ages, and hasn't exactly been met with much praise either. This is particularly irksome when the GFF has a few titles - Mama, John DIes At The End, Citadel, Compliance - that would probably be more appreciated, despite some having imminent release dates. Did the guys spunk all their budget getting Eli Roth over?

I'm so excited about another Frightfestbut I have a couple questions?

Will the Frightfest T shirts that were available at FF13 be sold in Glasgow? I bought the Frightfest til I Die t-shirt but I may be tempted to pick up another design

Also will the swap shop happen again?

Seriously I am so excited.

SilverGunnar Hansen- those are good choices but MAMA is supposed to come out FEB 22nd, john dies at the end was at the BFI london film festival (was supposed ot see it), compliance was alos there (i did see it) and Citadel is supposed to come out March 1st. To be honest, it's not a bad line up. ABC'S of death isn't my bag, but i could fins something to fill the void.

Not sure about your wording here, but since you've mentioned, I'm not impressed with the increased ticket costs when we're actually getting LESS in the way of new films this year - while I'm actually looking forward to Hellfjord and Black Sabbath (only recently getting into Bava, looking forward to the new Arrow Blu Rays too), I'd have happily taken new films in their place. Having two episodes of a TV show as the grand finale to the weekend is pretty weak IMO, especially following Hobo With A Shotgun and The Raid (it'll be interesting to see how many people stick it out).

I bought a ticket because I love the overall experience and as much as I'm often disappointed, it's always worth it for the unexpected surprises. When I awoke to get tickets at 9AM, I went online at about 8.50 and saw lots were gone already. Then I spotted on a local group's page that the tickets had gone live at about 1AM. Not sure the FF guys could have done anything about this, but it's frustrating as a punter to be misled, and it's happened to me twice this week with trying to get tickets for a certain Swedish electronic band playing London later in the year (don't get me started!).

Yeah, I knew they were all fairly imminent (Stoker too), but still would probably rather see them with the FF crowd than the likes of Sawney and even Byzantium. I caught Compliance in the States last year, loved it (check out my review - http://www.eyeforfilm.co.uk/review/comp ... id-graham/), would love to have seen the reaction it would get - I spoke to Alan about it last year and he said he wanted it for the main fest but the others didn't think it was horror enough.

TBH I'm just a hard-to-please bastard - I'm actually glad that a couple of films I expected to play (Last Exorcism 2 is the main one, also Madison County, maybe S-VHS) aren't there as I really didn't fancy them either (wasn't a fan of Last Exorcism or VHS)! Looking forward to the madness regardless . . .

There aren't usually t-shirts available for the G'gow show or any previous FFs as it's smaller and us Scots are notoriously tight! Doubt the swap shop will happen as it's a tight schedule and it hasn't been that well subscribed in the past . . .

You just seem very pissed off about it . This will be my 1st Glasgow FF so comment about previous etc, I still seems like a good deal to . Regarding the ticket sales , I guess I just expect mayhem at this point( given current years for London tickets ). I'm very interested to see Hellfjord as I won't get to see otherwise , plus I guessing it must fairly solid for them to included ?( it's not quite the same as slipping in one dodgy film)

I'm just a bit disappointed, since there was talk of the festival being even bigger than last year, which I took to mean extra films. Also, the guys mentioned an 'innovative programming strategy' (sic) which I didn't expect to be padding out the schedule with TV episodes. I'm sure Hellfjord is good, but the logic that 'it must be for them to include it' isn't very reassuring, given some of the unmitigated stinkers (Tape 407, Evidence, Penumbra) we were subjected to last year.

I'm sure it will be a good festival, I'm definitely looking forward to it, my initial reactions last week were just that the lineup was a little underwhelming. I'm really not a fan of Rob Zombie or Eli Roth but I know alot of people are, so those films are a big scoop for the festival overall - quite intrigued to see both, just not raising my expectations. I really like some of Neil Jordan's stuff so I'm intrigued to see Byzantium too but it doesn't look up to much to me. Glad I'm getting to see American Scream and Machine Gun Woman in the cinema.

I liked Penumbra and having a bigger festival is also a double edged sword. I love the party atmosphere at Glasgow which permeates the whole festival. From day 3 onwards in London everyone is dead and its a survival trip from then on.

What a dull world it would be if I agreed with you and you agreed with me.

Loving, liking and hating films at Frightfest is all part of it. Experiencing them with the crowd is the best part. I have met people who have loved the films I loved, loathed the films I loved and I've hated the ones they've liked. It's my seventh year and I'd say; relax. Keep repeating it's only a bunch of movies, it's only a bunch of movies.

Regards tickets, not all of us can go and queue up overnight to get the best seats for the main event but I accept that is how it works. I only discovered by chance at around 5am tickets were avaailable so I snapped up a pretty decent seat.

In all honesty I'm not blown away by this years line up but I'm prepared to go and give it a watch and it's nice to spend time with fellow geeks and to hopefully enjoy the stand out movies.

This is the first Glasgow event that I thought wether I wanted to go and that is quite rare for me for FF but if I didn't then i'm sure I would only kick myself for not going. I also like to be surprised and past events have thrown up films that I didn't think I would enjoy but really ended up doing so.
