No headline guest this year?
No headline guest this year?
Just wondering on this one. I know the guest line-up is still to be announced, but looking at the schedule, there doesn't seem to be anywhere they could fit an on-stage interview of any significant duration.
I know Total Film usually sponsors the headline guest (or they did last year with Argento), but no mention of their involvement yet?

They usually sponsor one of the UK films too, right?
Re: No headline guest this year?
Yeah Berberian Sound Studio was the TF sponsored film last year (and just happened to receive the Film of the Festival award from them )

Early afternoon on Friday - Dementamania is 83 minutes long and starts at 12.45pm, so should finish about 2.15pm, and Hatchet 3 doesn't start until 4.15pm, that leaves a 90 minute slot from 2.30pm to 4pm for the interview.DJBenz wrote:Just wondering on this one. Well spotted, I was scanning through looking for that kind of break. I wonder if all the Total Film involvement has been held back for the announcement of the headline guest?Wolfshade wrote:Early afternoon on Friday - Dementamania is 83 minutes long and starts at 12.45pm, so should finish about 2.15pm, and Hatchet 3 doesn't start until 4.15pm, that leaves a 90 minute slot from 2.30pm to 4pm for the interview.
Any guesses as to who it may be?

Well, Hatchet is one of Adam Green's films. It's highly likely he's going to be hanging around, what with that film and the episodes of Holliston on D1 it's a safe bet that Adam will be there. Wouldn't surprise me if he takes up the interview spot here.DJBenz wrote: Any guesses as to who it may be?
He's always good value at FrightFest, and - while not yet a horror 'icon' - he should at least be a good laugh.

Re: No headline guest this year?
I did over-hear one of the admin team talking about some guests who were very nearly here as part of the Total Film interview spot, but the targeted guest(s) spoilt it by being tardy and non-committal and ... dare I say it ... a bit sniffy about the whole thing. Good genre names too apparently.
But then again it was in the sleepy queue, and it was a conversation that I wasn't actually part of, and I shouldn't have been listening ... much less using all that surveillance equipment and those bugging devices ... so shame on me for spreading unsubstantiated gossip.
That's down to the Frightfest boys and the admin guys to confirm/share if they wish.
I'm willing to bet that there will be a last minute announcement near the weekend. After all they have some time-slots to play with.
BTW, how long has it been since we had a last minute replacement film? I miss the high drama of those and the old "surprise films". "Buried" was the last one wasn't it?
