FrightFest

Hi All,

I understand on the Thursday before Frightfest starts a fair few gather at The Captains Cabain to meet and char prior to heading over?
What time does this usually start?

I have never been to the pub with everyone and this is the first year I can and be social as I am not working. (I work in TV & Theatre so even though I go to Frightfest I have either had actors in the films or just working long hours on projects where I've had to skip the pub or some films so sadly been antisocial with you all.)

SO the point is I am looking forward to finally saying hello to people! Also what nighta do people head to the Pheonix? I am a member of the pheonix but never attended when Frightfesters go (again usually work related reasons the past couple of years.)

In terms of the captain's cabin- i'd say anywhere between 4 and half 4 as the first film starts around half 6 so people want to get over there a little early.

As for the phoenix:
opening night most people go after the last film. And some go every night after the last film, (i'll go thursday, saturday as i've got my bro in tow, and usually monday after the last film- that's when the phoenix gets a little warm and a little crowded, but it is a great way to end the festival. Usually late late licence.

Never been to Captains Cabin.

Might have to trek along if this is the case...possibly turned into flats?

Hell yeah! Never been to the pre-drink before, will be a first time for me. Can't wait!

Noooooooooo! This is one of my favourite London pubs! Truly is the end of an era. And I'm having to work late Thursday so will miss the opening film. The fates mock me.

Will be in Pheonix on Saturday night, I think we're skipping the last film as my girlfriends an alcoholic... I mean a Geordie...

REALLY looking forward to stopping by Captain's Cabin on Thursday, perfect chance to meet people before everything kicks off.

I'll be there with my friend in an attempt to be mingle with our fellow frightfesters. I'm really looking forward to this.

Hooray! I will be there from 2pm I think. At least with our FF tags it makes it easier to know who's part of it.

Im going to be a frightfest loner... i'll def pop along for a beer beforehand! is 5pm too late do you think?

I got to the Cabin about 5pm last year. Had time to neck a swift pint, but people were all then getting ready to move on so not much time to socialise. Once at the Empire though everyone knocks about in the foyer for quite a while before the film and you can buy beer and wine at the bar there so it's just as easy to find people to talk to there.

You don't need to get there as early as 2 but I'd say 4pm latest so yoy get some social time.

Captains Cabin is a nice pub actually, good choice for a pre Fest meet

I'll try to make it if I can find it. I'm sure Curse of Chucky will be a lot more enjoyable after a drink or two.
