HARBINGER DOWN
No CGI, old school style real creature effects film starring Lance Henriksen. By some of the team behind the creatures of Aliens and Tremors.

HUMAN CENTIPEDE 3
Need I say more? Due soon, Tom Six and Laurence Harvey love FrightFest.

THE BABADOOK
Been showing at lots of festivals and probably a bit late for FrightFest in August but looks great, scary creature feature which has been getting good reviews.

THE ABCS OF DEATH 2
The first has shown before and was lots of fun for the FrightFest audience. Due very soon.

VHS VIRAL
Third VHS film, the others have been shown at previous FrightFests. This is being sold at Cannes so would be surprised if the FF boys didn't take a serious look at this, possible opening/closing film/premiere.

THE GUEST
Adam Wingard's latest, big hit at Sundance and has an interesting plot. Really hoping this features.

LESSON OF THE EVIL
Takashi Miike's latest, ultraviolent and controversial would be a crowd favourite at FrightFest.

TREEHOUSE

New one I quite fancy and has the right kind of pedigree for FrightFest. The director is Michael Bartlett who directed Paranormal Diaries: Clophill which was at FrightFest last year. This one is called TREEHOUSE.

I'm quite happy not knowing - I do love this suspense and build up.

From what Alan has written in his Postcards from Cannes, it seems pretty nailed on that IT FOLLOWS will be at Frightfest this year...... "Everyone is talking about IT FOLLOWS here, and you will be too soon"

Same can be said for WOLFCOP.... :s "...expect this to play every fantasy festival over the next year"

I've been hearing good things about IT FOLLOWS, but not so sure about WOLFCOP.......could be this year's STALLED/HAMMER OF THE GODS/R.I.P.D

Wolfcop looks badass, 'half cop, half wolf, all wolfcop!' I'd be well up for that, provided that is the only silly trash movie.

I'm more interested in:
On a completely different level is the Sundance entry A GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT from Ana Lily Amipour. Dubbed the first Iranian Vampire Western, this black and white visual treat is so far up the art-house scale, it will prove a tremendously difficult sell, yet it has some really beguiling and mesmeric sequences while being ultimately way too precious by half. Set in the fictional ghost town of Bad City, a burka-clad vampire is skateboarding through the sleazy drug and prostitution underworld until she finds the one partner she might be able to settle down with. Shot in California, in Farsi, the electro-pop soundtrack is another string to this highly unusual fantasy the likes of which one can honestly say has never been seen before.
