Just so you know, thanks to Film4 we will have some ponchos to dish out people in the queue this year.

He is. I don't have a problem with him like some others clearly do, but can understand why these problems occur.

Hi, as a newcomer to the sleepy queue, although I've been to FrightFest several times before, what sort of time do people get there?

This is mostly true, for most people, most of the time, but for the exceptions to this rule, the idea of him wielding any authority up and down the queue is quite intimidating- when Scotty decides he doesn't like somebody it's not at all pretty.

He is nonetheless a dedicated and passionate frightfester, and a popular and much liked figure at the fest.

That's 3am Saturday I take it, not the Friday?

Hello.

There was talk that the first person was in the Sleepy Queue last year at about 4am on the Friday - about 30 hours before tickets went on sale.

Most will be around from about the early evening (after leaving work, say about 7pm) of the Friday and a steady stream will continue throughout the night.

I would say most start queuing early Saturday... even if you turn up at 10am you'll still get a seat.

Most of the really early people are after specific seats, like the front row (and there's three of those now!)

Hey you guys! Thought I'd better post at least once before I leave tomorrow to join in my first Sleepy Queue. I normally get the 1am sleeper train up from Exeter and join in Saturday breakfast time but this year one of the gang said they will join me on Friday and line up over night.

There's 5 of us that met in 2008 and since 2009 we have sat together, only 2 of us can make the sleepy queue and 2 others can join us Saturday between 6-7am, the 5th maybe dead, I deleted my Facebook so not sure ;) what stink would it cause if the two late comers joined us in line, or will it be ok if they give us the £ to make sure we sit together at least?

Another thing where's the nearest crapper? If my IBS goes mental I don't want to have to crap in the bin outside Pizza Hut.

I'll take this post to be on face value.

Personally, just tell the people around you that you are expecting people to join you later in the day. You and those around will have to have the politeness discussion at the time as people vary as to whether its cutting or whether its legit.

To be honest, I can understand why you'd need to join a queue for the last few hours if someone will buy tickets for you, kind of defeats the idea of it being a Sleepy Queue.

Leicester Square has pay toilets, 50p a time, opposite the Empire. Obviously the bars and takeaways are open till late to get in for free (well for the takeaways, I wouldn't risk the ire of bouncers).
