Lineup announced - discussion/thoughts
For me, probably the best lineup there's ever been. Most of what I wanted and more, with a few suprises thrown in. I can't wait. For me, I'm happy that I'm finally going to get to see THE GREEN INFERNO and THE BABADOOK!
Well done team FrightFest, you've outdone yourselves once again.
Looking forward to:
THE GREEN INFERNO
OPEN WINDOWS
THE GUEST
THE BABADOOK
SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR

Re: Lineup announced - discussion/thoughts
I'm going to do the same thing I've done for the past 15 years and try to go into as many of the films as I can as blind as possible (and no, I don't mean I'm going to close my eyes). Obviously it's impossible to do that with movies like Dead Snow 2 or Sin City and something like The Green Inferno is always going to come with a fair amount of expectation and anticipation. But there's a lot of titles that mean little to me at present and I'm going to try and keep it that way until the August Bank Holiday rolls around. Hopefully that'll ensure I get completely bowled off my feet by some low budget classic (much like last years Cheap Thrills). Although the downside to all this is by playing the ignorance card I do spend all my time in the main screen. Never done a Disco screen yet. Which I sometimes regret when I get a "You missed a gem there Eddie. You should've skipped I Spit On Your Grave 2!" (to be honest I should've just skipped I Spit On Your Grave 2 regardless!)
Re: Lineup announced - discussion/thoughts
Does anyone know which of the films across Main and Discovery screens are found footage or shot from a first person perspective?

I poured over the line up more than I usually do in order to choose the screen which matches up with the Disco screens, even then there is some cross over. I am very excited by the films on offer especially by by the discovery screens. I suppose I'll make my final decisions based on the guests.

Re: Lineup announced - discussion/thoughts
really, don't have a person with found footage/faux doc. i really like it if its good. when done well is very effective.
Re: Lineup announced - discussion/thoughts
Actually nor do I Rec, Rec 2, Troll Hunter, Blair Witch etc are classics but there is a lot guff. I'm always suspicious of new zombie & found footage films as the are a lot of terrible ones out there but I tend to really enjoy the good ones.morralex wrote:really, don't have a person with found footage/faux doc. i really like it if its good. when done well is very effective.

The Expedition (Disco Screen) looks to be found/recovered footage for the most part. From the trailer anyway.Sue77 wrote:Does anyone know which of the films across Main and Discovery screens are found footage or shot from a first person perspective?

Thank you DJBenz. Unfortunately I suffer with motion sickness when trying to watch this style of film - especially if they run whilst holding the camera...
