I'm sure we'll see our fare share of over-familiar tropes without having to look too far!
Oh absolutely. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
Sorry, I didn't mean that original quote to sound naïve or anything, just that it's nice to see less films with numbers in the title.(*cough*WrongTurn*cough)
Having said that, I wouldn't have minded to have seen "Tremors 5" in there somewhere, so I'm 2-faced anyway. :green:

Night Fare, Body and Nina Forever I'd say.

Probably Nightfare (of the two it is the one I enjoyed most)
Body is good (haven't seen Jeruzalem)
I didn't like Bite but really liked Nina forever

Irritatingly though, I can't seem to find anything about Night Fare, so I don't know whether that's going to be one to miss or a highlight of the fest.
I really liked Nightfare, although its final fourth(?) act detracts fro what went before.

Remember someone picked Shockwave Darkside 3D for last year's fest.

Total mirror image of mainstream cinema.
The genre leading the way once again and concentrating on originality ... :D
I'm not sure that Frankenstein is really a remake/update/reboot as it has only a very loose connection to the novel.

Rabid Dogs is that very rare beast, a remake that actually exceeds the original (although I will probably get roasted for writing that round these parts). One of my top 5 genre picks for the year so far - and if I see five better films at this years Frightfest it will have been a spectacular year.

I'm not feeling FRANKENSTEIN for some reason. One of the few things on the line up I saw and thought no way.

I can't get my head round how fast the festival has come round again

I *really* didn't like it, but it has won awards elsewhere so I may be in a minority (as usual).
