Will the open and close film still be announced before the 3rd of July?
That's the plan, but no date as yet

Sadly WB has bumped up the release date for THE GALLOWS to July 17th so while that seemed fairly likely before looks to be saiyonara now.
A tasty warm up to satiate us over the fest nonetheless

Also another sure fire, Eli Roth's KNOCK KNOCK has now got a June 26th Release Date set. So that's vetoed.
What about FF alumni Johannes Roberts' new one THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR
or old FF regular Adam Mason's new found footage home invasion riff HANGMAN.

Fingers crossed they don't show the martyrs remake. The original was one of best things shown at Frightfest. A poor mans remake, which even the organisers have said is inferior and messes up the ending, is only going to taint the original somewhat. If it is on I can skip it but my rather sad ambition to see every film shown at FF will go out the window. God damn it....
There's no heaven up there, we'll have to make heaven down here.

Re: Films for Frightfest August 2015
S now that the ticketing debate is calming down we turn to the films and as always there are the its confirmed comments...don't be fooled...we wont know until the boys publish them ...there will always be front runners but just because they could be shown doesn't mean they will be.
for instance Crimson Peak is fav for the opening film however it is also a possible for the London Film Festival..remember the Dario Argento Dracula.this was stated by many as a dead cert..being that Dario was at the Festival..it didn't happen various reasons for that, but the boys got slated over it..even though they hadn't said it was being shown..for sure.
lists that peeps post are their ideas, suggestions some of which may well be in the final programme, as with the ticketing you cant please everyone but considering the number of planned films there are bound to be an eclectic mix from superb right down to the awful. from a personal perspective, The House at the end of time sounded interesting and turned out to be brilliant,Odd Thomas was to be a fill in for us but by the end we were in tears and it has to be good for hardened horror fans like us to be a quivering wreck. then there was the really awful RIPD. I am not a fan of remakes but Maniac was brilliant, if the remake of martyres is on we will miss that as we loved the original.
I suppose my point is wait and see what the programme is choice what you want to see for sure chuck in a few maybes and some late night who cares and there you go..the main thing is enjoy yourselves.

I think an icon like Christopher Lee needs to have a tribute, I'm sure Kim Newman can put together some from Hammer and the like..I'm pretty sure most Frightfesters would agree on this..we don't usually agree on all topics but this one well if we don't we should.
