The Glass Coffin

Some effective scenes and a good score, but overall nothing too remarkable. It did well with mostly a single location and actress, but I thought the reveal didn't work too well / convincingly. At times it felt like a Saw-inspired film, but don't expect huge amounts of gore during the fairly short running time. 6.5 / 10

I don't get it - why would one bad film experience ruin your festival? I didn't catch this one myself, but doesn't sound like I missed much from the reviews I've read.

Presume the reveal being referred to is that
Spoiler:
the kidnapper was actually a woman
I thought it was dodgily exploitative, although not quite to the extent it looked like it was going to be from the opening act.

In terms of the reveal I was thinking along the lines of
Spoiler:
an actress taking such extravagant revenge against another actress for stealing a part, which didn't really work for me. Plus the somewhat random affliction which made the antagonist look like a hag from hell. Still, the scenery at the end was suitably atmospheric!

It triggered me and knocked my brain out a bit for the next.. 36hrs. Which were FF hours. So yeah, it screwed up my weekend a bit.
Haven't been set off by a film before and what affected me is probably what made the film so popular with other people.
After marching straight to the Harp for a few drinks I came back and sat on the wall and chatted to a lady who said it was her favourite of the festival so far.

Thanks guys, figured that might be the 'twist', but it didn't make it any easier to watch by trying to guess the end.

Ouch - would it be a spoiler to say what it was?
