Best: Lowlife.
Original script, great humour, great acting, complex characters and much more
Worst: Attack of the adult babies.
Terrible idea, badly executed. Hard to watch. Just quite terrible.

Best - Victor Crowley/The Bar (I can't split them)
Worst - Psycopaths

I have five jostling for best, but will go for Our Evil. Plot twists I didn't see coming and surprisingly moving in parts.
Worst was Psychopaths. The worst thing was that there could have been a good film with that premise, this wasn't it.

Best - Lowlife.
Just brilliant, entertaining, funny, unpredictable, and quite emotional. Superbly acted. I could go on.

Worst (in a very strong lineup) - Terror of Hallows Eve.
For being average.

Best was 68 Kill -I just thought it was a riot.
Worst was Jackals which had stupid people dying dully. Runner up for worst was Death Note (utterly mediocre with a spectacularly unappealing lead) and The Terror of Hallows Eve which has beautiful creature work in need of a good story.

Best was 3rd Night (just ahead of Ruin me). Love Aussie Horror and i thought the performances were very strong, The film was a tight thriller with a killer twist. Must mention Ruin Me though, It didnt dissapoint. What a great story and again a real twist ending.

Worst, It has to be Canaries. Maybe i was just tired but it was just too daft.

Tragedy Girls and Better Watch Out are the two joint top of my list, with Psychopaths at the bottom, although the latter is partly due to my high hopes beforehand, so maybe I'm being a little harsh on it.

Best: Double Date, closely followed by Freehold and Better Watch Out

Worst: Psycopaths, with absolutely no competition whatsoever.

Agreed
And the film makers were lovely.

Worst - The End?

This probably isn't a fair choice, but I skipped out on Adult Babies and Psychopaths so can't resort to those two.
And Glass Coffin was a very well shot, edited, acted film, I just absolutely hated it.

I wasn't sure how there was going to be an interesting resolution or pay off at the end of the The End?
... and there wasn't.
I can't even remember the ending, but I didn't really care what happened to the lead. He was made so unlikable that I hoped he'd die half way through and the entire second half would be about one of the women, or the cop and it would cleverly tie together.

Some people should be obviously disqualified from this post as they were in Discoveries rather than Adult Babies

Best: 68 Kill tied with Killing Ground for me.

Worst: Psychopaths/Sequence Break/Boots on the Ground

For me the best watch Better Watch Out. Simple story, great acting (especially by the main child actor) and a great final twist that had the audience cheering. Honourable mention for Sequence Break

Worst was a tie between Adult Babies (for being purile and just plain silly) and Psychopaths (for being confused and imcomprehensable). runner up of 3rd night.

Best: Fanged Up, Dead Shack, Tragedy Girls

I don't think I saw anything bad at FF. They were all creative and had no obvious CGI which a major turn off for me, especially in horror.

Least good: Imitation Girl-I wanted to let this one go. The crew is Iranian. Maybe I just cannot see past the cultural differences but after giving it some thought, no. There is one principal of storytelling that all cultures should observe- the character has to deal with obstacles. Noah has to built an ark and survive a flood, Hercules gets 12 task, even in something like "Lost in Translation" the characters have to deal with being sad and lonely. In Imitation Girls an alien comes to Earth and has problems for 5 minutes, maybe. She gets taken in by immigrants from Iran who have a nice house and nice clothes so settling in the USA was apparently a piece of cake for them. Also the alien has an affair with the first man she sees but from the man's perspective he's having sex with a mentally ill woman. I don't know anything about the laws in the USA in that regard but WRONG. Not Tragedy Girls wrong, where that's part of the fun. Its supposed to beautiful and loving and sad and life affirming something, something.
Like I said not a bad movie. I like the premise, I like the look of it (first time director, can you believe it!). The ending saves it a lot. I kinda wanna see a Hollywood remake of this, which is still subtle and philosophical but actually has stuff happening.
