A good fun film 8/10.

Should have been the last night film on Thursday instead of Pyschopaths but then again it would have set the bar too high in the nonsense stakes.

A high paced film once it started that was enough craziness that even the quieter moments seemed to be met with a confused shrug by many in the audience.

Bit of a tacked on moral at the end, pre-credits that seemd to carry a vegetarian message but if that is what the film was going for then it was lost in the general madness of it all.

Not quite Dead Sushi but great all the same.

This was brilliantly mental! Knew what I was getting into and it didn't disappoint. If you've seen Tokyo Gore Police this is 2 gears up in terms of madness...well worth it....watch it with mates and if you drink...have a few drinks too!

If you've seen any of these Japanese gorefests you know exactly what to expect. Lots of gore, lots of action, and his trademark mix of hideous body horror and goofy humour. It actually has quite a relatively slow start establishing the characters, with a downbeat story of a middle aged debt-collector trying to deal with his inadequacy and then it suddenly goes gloriously insane as the "Meatball Machine" arrives and starts unleashing chaos. It's interesting takes the debt collector's mid-life crisis and uses the crazy sci-fi horror elements to blow up his personal battle to epic proportions. I don't think this is as good as Tokyo Gore Police but it is a fun ride that's constantly throwing up crazy events and insanity.

It does feel like it goes on for too long. I would have preferred it to be about 15 minutes shorter, as by the end some elements ahave become repetitive, but it's impressive that over its runtime it sustains the action and never slows down.

It would have been perfect as a midnight movie, and it should have been on the main screen as it was better than the three midnight movies we did get this year. And its screening as the penultimate film of the festival felt like the wrong place for it as it's an exhuasting movie and I would have preferred it earlier when I was still feeling fresh.
