Dead Night

Whatever they were going for in this it didn't work. There's a standard set-up about a family going out to a cabin in the woods to be butchered, then a meta-narrative that is a crime show talking about the events, and that somehow ties into a story that people are getting possessed there are witches involved and they're watching the crime show from the future on some TVs in the middle of the woods. It's impossible to spoil because it doesn't make sense and nothing was explained to my satisfaction. It felt as though chunks of the movie had been lost. There are claims on the internet that this film underwent re-editing, so maybe that was what happened. There are some arresting creepy images and the gore keeps it watchable.
