Hey everyone,

Just thought it would be a good idea for all those new to the festival this year to introduce themselves here, maybe say a bit about yourselves (job, hobbies, favourite horror movie - I dunno :-) ) - somewhere on here there is a thread where we all put up our pics so we could put names to faces, helped a lot to recognise the faces you talk to loads on here :-)

I am new(ish been to 2 Glasgow events).

My name is Colin(i wont be able to go see it because i would prefer the main screen stuff) i like stuff. I work in life assurance, come on we all have to do something.

Favourite horror would be a toss up between evil dead 2 and American Werewolf in London. I don't count Oldboy or Pan's Labyrinth as horror or they would be in here as well.

My proudest possesions are mine and my girlfriends signed stuff(Ray Harryhausen comic and book, Shane Meadows Dead Man's Shoes poster, Tarintino signed poster and signed Reservoir Duck, Army of Darkness poster signed by Raimi, Campbell and Danny Elfman and lots more) and my girlfriend who will be joining me in London.

Interesting Colin fact I share my birthday with Jason Voorhees and i was born in the year the first film came out(wasn't released on my birthday though).

Any other questions don't hesitate to ask. Do i get a cookie now?

A lot of respect for the F13 connections! Jason is probably my slasher film hero, no matter what you do, 10 films, a scrap with Freddie and a shit remake he is still gonna comeback!

For all the new people, it might seem like a lot of people know each other already (prob cos they do) but always say hello to people around you, this is the friendliest thing that I have ever been a part of.

Just to give you an idea of what I mean. Last year I went for 3 days and when I picked up my goody bag I had a little chat with Alan and I was like thanks for organising this, I have enjoyed it and I would definitly come back again. When I was queueing up for my ticket on Saturday, Alan was going around saying hello to people and he was like well thanks for coming back again, hope you enjoy it etc which I thought was really nice to remember.

We were all new once!

I found that if you want to strike up a conversation with Alan the easiest thing is to have Licquorice of some sort. He mentioned it last year at the Glasgow Frightfest while he was eating some of ours. I figured that was a safe bet for some film gossip from Mr Jones if i kept the Licquorice out in full view at this years Glasgow event. Yay i was right drew him and the other guys in a couple of times.

I've often wondered what life assurance is. Does someone come in and say something like "I'm terribly worried about this current pandemic!" and you reply in a soothing tone, "don't worry, statistically there is a big chance you won't actually die.".

I hope it is exactly like that.

See to be honest i don't really have the foggiest. I push numbers around and keep an eye for any anomalies. I have a bit of an analytical brain, so i don't deal with too many customers I'm behind the scenes looking for things not as they should be.

The closest i've got to using my degree(computational mathematics) since i got it.

I'm a newbie also.

My name is Dom and I just graduated from uni this year so no job yet.

I come from Manchester, but don't hold that against me.

Favorite horror film is a tough one. I watched the Exorcist when I was 10 and it terrified me so much that I never attempted to watch it again until I was 17, but on the plus side it turned me on to the horror genre forever after.

I look forward to seeing everyone there! I'll try and be friendly since I'm coming on my own I'll need to make friends quickly, haha.

What kind of anomalies? Like parachutes that won't open or goldfish being replaced by pirhana's?

I've still not been allocated my Tamagochi!! Do you think they'll beep when they get hungry? would be most annoying during films...
