It was a REAL shame about outsde the cinema with the road works, but nobodies fault. It did definately effect the socialising and any mixing with directors / actors etc that usually goes on. But I did catch a couple inside.

It's just unfortunate - as much as I want Frightfest to succeed and get bigger and better on a selfish note I somehow preferred it when it was smaller and more intimate.
Yes totally agree with you on this. Cant beleive the bad behaviour of some peops over freebies - girls in wheelchairs getting elbowed in the head , I mean come on people its just a ruddy DVD. 2011 was my 9th year at Frightfest - havent quite enjoyed it as much the past two years that I have in previous years - doubt i'll make it 10 in a rownext year - ach maybe I'm turning into a old fart 8)

That was you in front of me? If I'd known I'd have said "hello".

Lisa, I've spoken to you twice in the last two years, both times amicably. The thing I don't get is that you seem to enjoy ranting about people letting the side down/not being nice to you/being general rotters/not being upstanding thoroughbred chaps so regularly, I begin to wonder what you expect? It's a festival, and although you're in a minority that we should all want present, I'd question if you judge the whole of society by the same standards. If so, I'm genuinely astonished you ever leave your house. My pregnant chum is often left standing on the tube, I've been elbowed and punched on a train, my friends have been turned away from clubs for having inappropriate shoes on. Really - is all this worthy of a rant? Seriously?

You belittle your very valid point by moaning about pretty much everything. My brother has far worse medical problems than those you've trumpeted on here, regularly, and guess what? He says nowt and gets on with it. I'm sure I'll get a a diatribe on how badly victimised you are and that my sibling is a fool for putting up with similar, but that really isn't the case. He chooses to ignore the issues he has to put up with, quite simply because he doesn't see himself as a victim. You might like to try it sometime.

The "It's racist" poster - When you forget your issues, I have about 10-12 genuinely lovely FFers who can disprove your point. They are open and chatty and have been for years.

Are you? Or are you looking for a reason to sulk?

I must have been rather lucky where I sat and who was next to me.

After the initial getting used to period (call it Thursday) I was surrounded, to the left, right and behind me, by a throughly decent set of people.

I missed the possible scrum on Monday for the free stuff, but at other times, be it being given out on the stage or on entrance to the screen, it all seemed to be rather orderly and polite.

For a first Fright Fest and having been somewhat of a vertern of most festivals the UK has to offer, it was far better than what I've encountered on the, say, last day of Leeds.

Though I have no faith in the human condition so can fully appreciate scummy behaviour.

I'd like to clarify that it was my friends attitude pissing me off not the people behind me, thanks.

This thread makes depressing reading for all sorts of reasons. I missed out on the fest this year but cant say i would have got upset by a lightweight goody bag - i remember at a much earlier Frightfest being hugely grateful just for a solitary Switchblade Romance sticker and finding it funny that some promised Seed Of Chucky condoms never arrived! Also to put things in perspective - surely a goodie bag WITHOUT the f*cking useless "Dead Cert" on DVD must rank as a great gift in itself...?

I was sat in HH, which seemed to be mostly press/fim-makers and everyone was very well behaved (as you'd expect). The only issue was during the first film when two women sat in the seats beside me and proceeded to start with the mobile phone. As they'd missed the introduction and arrived late I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt for five minutes - not that it isn't common sense just to switch it off - but my neighbour on the other side was having none of it and got them told straight away.

Other than that I found everyone to be very well behaved and polite. :)

Tsk, poor show. If it's his stuff and he wants to sell it, fair play, but to grab handfulls of stuff to sell on and deny someone the opportunity to enjoy it is not on. :(

Looks like he listed every freebie going on there... poor show!!! You'd understand if a couple of things went up but posters, tshirts and other stuff are all on there that were given away at the festival.

He's Mr Poopy Pants now!!! That's his name!!! Mr Poopy Pants!
