Hmmm, just looked at the line up. I was actually in london friday and made the decision not to go. My buddy rachael even said she'd get me one and i could owe her, but looking at the films... i still stand by my decision. Not saying there's nothing wrong with the line up, it looks pretty good. But there are reasons why i chose not to.

1. renewing my network railcard cost half the price of the allnighter ticket. which i needed. the saving everytime i use it is £8.
2. i remember last year that i was really feeling bad and the heat from the ica made it worse. I couldn't stay in the cinema half the time and had to keep going in and out alot.
3. i need to start saving money to go to canada next year.

Oh and no, i'm not skipping this to go to the gorezone thing either! :P

Buh...Buh....But what?! The line up is awesome (in my humble opinion)
Agree - I'd say this line up is stronger than any of the single days line up at the August event, and it's also much stronger than last year's line up. It's not quite as good as the 2007 line up, but they'd be hard pushed to better than one.

I'm a bit sceptical about Survival Of The Dead, and Wrong Turn 3 will no doubt be brainless, but might still be fun....but the other 4 films look ace, good line up!

I'll be honest: of course I'm going Gorezoning. My plan was to actually combine WoH and the All nighter to watch something like 16, 17, 18 movies pretty much in a row *reel zombie!*

Now, I will not say that Gorezone's movies are 'better' and that's why I'm skipping the all nighter...

fact is I might even have gone despite the IMO rather weak lineup if tickets had still been available!

And for this I think in the blamegame the ball needs to be shot at the FF guys!

Great move getting the FF into Empire! I wish they'd do the same here in Glasgow where it's still in ... GFT while half the Glasgow Filmfest actually already plays at Cineworld...

but for your all nighter you're back in some shitty little hole in the wall?

Don't tell me Empire had issues going hardcore for a full night?

anyways...

I'm sure Survival will be fun, I'm personally just not feeling like another load of zombies right now: Pretty much every week I go to Asda for an early morning look at the week's new DVDs and lo, there's another zombie or vampire or redneck mutant flick out...

that's why I'm also not too fond of Wrong Turn 3.

Invitation Only... if it's Hostel in Taiwanese, well, count me out... well, okay, maybe if it had gone to the next level (of fun)...

PA - I'm rather openminded when it comes to that one, only catch being that it's doing the festival circuit right now i.e. you can catch it just about anywhere. Okay, if you keep your focus just on the UK, well, potentially it'll only be the all nighter, but don't forget there are other festivals in other countries.

Daybreaker... would love to see that one...

Carriers on the other hand... just about everybody who saw it at the FFF called it boring and directionless... my gut tells me that if I'd made it thru the night, that one would put me to sleep.

So, what movies would I've prefered?

Well, I posted the movies I had hoped for a few pages ago.

Now, these movies most likely aren't true 'horror' movies though I'm hard pressed to say what really is a horror film these days...

And that's the thing: we are talking 'genre' movies but it seems like the FF Boys went a bit too much for big movies instead of underground.

So yeah, I'll give you one movie I'd have loved to see in the billing: Neighbor - apparently that raises the bar on the torture (porn) to a new low

I just dont think its a fantastic line up and worth the money and would rather wait until the film I want to see is out in the cinema. So I'll be at Paul Davis's party instead.

Also I dont think it should be a Frightfest Vs Gorezone thing at all, thats just silly and petty everyone can do what they want to. Some will be happy with the Gorezone line up, some with the Frightfest one. I'd rather party all night!

Its a strong line up,much better than last years event & could be a match for 2007s event.
its a shame the FF camp is divided between a party and a cracking film event.

well its not really a question of FF people being "divided". Theres a limited amount of seats at the ICA, not everyone who wanted to go was every going to be able to get there.

The suggestion to invite people to the Phoenix was only ever going to be put forward once the ICA event had sold out, which it had done.

At least this way those who missed tickets, heck even those who just didnt fancy the line up (tho with all line ups the proof will only ever be in the eating so to speak), can all still congregate. I think its a fantastic arrangement personally. Dont create "divisions" where none exist please

Its not a frightfest party, its a party Paul Davis is throwing and has invited people to. And from the sounds of everything going down the party is going to be wicked

Kevin is spot on. We didn't say anything about the party at the Phoenix UNTIL the ICA was sold out. Frightfest comes first. Once the all-nighter DID sell out, that's when the word was put out about the party. We want everyone to enjoy themselves on Halloween night whatever they're doing :)

Gorezone line-up looks shit, i wouldn't want to go there just because it's cheaper and this is the Frightfest FFS - they always deliver high quality events :P

At the moment I'm very tempted to do the all nighter, get the train home, sleep for an hour or two and then head to Grimmfest for the last 3 films :D
