PQ shocking at the beginning and gets better but it is not the restortion piece I expected !

It had BETTER NOT be the same print I got on the HD DVD, cause that was rubbish near the beginning - the scenes on the moors - grainy picture - I purchased this blu ray hoping for the print we saw at Frightfest, but have not gotten around to actually putting the blu ray in my player yet - i will be really annoyed if its not the right print :? Surely it must be the one presented at FF?

I saw the supposed "new" hi def version at FF this year and to be frank didnt look much better than the HD dvd I already got 2 years ago....

Sounds like a load of marketing hype to me ... in fact John Landis , great director that he is, was hyping this Hi def soon to be released blu ray soooo much that it nearly made me throw up...

Obviously the documentary is not on my old HD dvd which is a bonus but even that has not made me want to cough up for the blu ray probably cos i have seen it so many times now I think I need a break of at least a year before returning to it.

I know what a properly restored movie in hd looks like - checkout Zulu and you will see what I mean - this new blu ray of American werewolf is definitely in sheeps clothing!

I've not watched my copy yet but I did like Landis trying to explain bluray as though it could be the ONLY Hi Def Format....

i didnt think the picture quality of AMWIL was that bad considering its age the only improvement over the hd dvd version is the dts hd audio track other than that its the few extras and beware the moon,that makes the package it is.

doghouse is quite a nice disc,though it does feel a rushed package with no pip or commentary to add the finishing touches to the disc.

3 commentarys are needed the boys,and the zombirds of moodley and dan and jake on separate tracks.
lets hope a better disc is on the way in the near future.
