Trick 'r Treat DVD

Post by Alex J »

I noticed that according to Amazon the running time for the UK DVD of Trick 'r Treat is 79 minutes, 82m for the US version (as expected as American DVDs are always 4% longer anyway), yet the version we saw at Frightfest was 95m, according to the festival programme. Does anyone know why there is such a discrepancy? If anyone has seen the DVD yet, is there much obviously missing? I expect DVD releases to be cut, but 13+ minutes is a lot. Unless the stated running times are inaccurate....

If the film is 82 mins does this mean the dvd has been cut by 3 mins ?

Thanks for all your feedback, I ordered the DVD and got it in time to enjoy watching it on Halloween night, while some lucky devils were at the Allnighter!

So I watched my dvd of Trick R Treat, and, although my memory is terrible, I'm pretty sure some of the deleted scenes were included in the version we saw at frightfest. In particular, the extended scene where Anna Paquin is walking through the forest to the party in the woods and encounters the masked man. Then again I could be completely wrong. I would say there is around 5 minutes total of additional material in the deleted scenes.

So, anyone know for sure if the dvd version is different to what we saw or not?
