A LIZARD IN A WOMAN'S SKIN
A LIZARD IN A WOMAN'S SKIN
Day two kicked off with our retro title. It was great to see the film again on the big screen, but did it blow you away?

I wondered if it would ever end.... why anyone would want to add footage to this film to make it longer is beyond me. hock:

Absolutely fantastic opportunity to view one of the bona fide giallo classsic on the big screen. It was brilliant watching the extra material and hearing the absolutely gorgeous soundtrack at such a high volume.
More restored classic giallos, I say!

Garbage.
Well - not a movie for me, many awful ear piercing odd noises and naff acting etc.. the usual.

Well I appreciated it, especially the brilliant stalking sequence at Alexandra Palace which is next door to where I live.
The lead cops relentless dubbed whistling did get on my nerves though, kept expecting that the turn out to be a plot point.

I loved this film- cringe worthy and funny for all the wrong reasons... the dialogue was some of the cheesiest lines I have ever heard delivered- the facial expressions, priceless and the use of the wind machine, class. haha. Some really nice close up shots though and the music was fantastic. I would def watch this again.

I'm surprised you hate giallo so much Pups, given the amount of stalking going on;)Satans Puppy wrote:I wondered if it would ever end.... why anyone would want to add footage to this film to make it longer is beyond me. hock:

This was the one thing I regret most about not being able to go to Glasgow. I'd LOVE to have seen this giallo -- indeed *any* such is the genre's rapturous submission to that great big voyueristic gaze the cinema screen gives us -- on the big screen.

I quite enjoyed this one - much more than i thought I would - agreed on the high pitched squealing noises though (they were sometimes a bit too much for my ears to handle), but apart from that, nice juicy story, lovely visuals, and for once, the nudity is done with class...

Re: A LIZARD IN A WOMAN'S SKIN
its Lucio Fulci madness time what a cracker of a film, and to see this on the bigscreen made me feel like i had been transported back to the 70s,surreal dream sequences incredibly glamorous women, fabulous fashions great scenery, its a visual treat,at times it did feel hard to follow, but thats fulci for you,his stories dont always make sense, but what they lack in one thing they make up for in another, nice to see a fulci film made in britain, the print could have been better but its scratchy tired look made me feel that bit more transported to the 70s.
And one of his films i dont own & had never seen.

Visually did look good. Especially like the interior and exterior shots of Alexandra Palace. At times I thought it was a bit slow going. Scenes of ongoing chases. Made this film at times amusing. Not often you get a inspector whistling some annoying tune.

I was a bit gutted that it wasn't fully uncut and restored but it was great to see it on the big screen. I love ALIAWS and the extra footage was excellent, but I can see why people might not dig it.
