I managed to get a copy of this in WH Smiths in Manchester today, very good mag, really liked the rundown of the video nasties, that whole thing from the 80s was one of my earliest memories of watching films and the whole thing of banned releases that we weren't supposed to see but kinda did anyway.

I'd like to see more specials, maybe every couple of months perhaps, previews, reviews, flashbacks to the past, articles on horror subgenres maybe?

Thanks for the kind remarks, krispyg.
I'd like to see more horror specials too. It's all down to sales, really. If this one sells well, I've no doubt I'll be asked to do more. The question is whether the audience is there. The sales figures for horror magazines on the UK newsstand are absolutely microscopic, which is no doubt why a couple have sadly ceased publication in the last couple of years. We'll see.

I personally think the major point for a horror magazine to have is high quality content, reviews and news. Not just from big movie companies and high budget films but from international movies from a round the world and little known indie horror movies as well.

I bought it, thought is was pretty decent although I could have done without the list of top horror icons which was an article boldly going where many articles have gone before.

However it was a pity that the issue kinda walked straight into this by failing to feature any female voices:

Well GoreZone claim readership figures of "424,000+"...

I've had a read of this, and it is cracking.

424,000 is, er, an interesting figure. At SFX, our circulation (officially certified) is about 32,000. And we are the best selling genre mag in the UK by a large margin. Perhaps they meant their website gets 424,000 hits a month, or something similar. Anyhow, it's good that a British horror mag still exists.

I'm glad you liked it!

Found one in my local WHSmiths; haven't yet got round to reading it though.

Just wanted to add my ten pence worth and say that I really enjoyed the SFX Horror Special and also wish they would publish a regular horror mag.
Maybe something quarterly to start off with.
It's about time the UK actually had a quality horror mag on the stands.
I urge all you horror fans to rush out and buy a copy today!!!
