Fangoria although it is rumoured to be on it's last legs

Gorezone though that is not to much peoples liking on here, including mine

Depending on what you want, I tend to find most of my horror news/reviews/previews online, much more upto date and relevent.

Kirspy's right - Most info/news is out of day by the time magazines hit the shelves. Fangoria can be pretty decent with exclusive set visits, etc but is based around the US market, so they'll sometimes be writing stuff up that we saw at FrightFest the year previous.

Woah woah woah! Kirspy? Has that Puppy been influencing you?

I do like a magazine as I can share it with non horror people. But if I'm being honest I think in an age where people want information 24/7 that online content will eventually replace many magazines.

It's a shame but that's where technology is taking us. I like FF so if I read film reviews on here it usually is a good indicator of if a film is worth seeing.

Fango has just got a new editor, some guy who used to work for Rue Morgue. I heard an interview with him where he said he was going to try and push it back to the way it was years ago - new look and everything. he seemed pretty positive about it all. First issue of the 'reboot' is the one due out in May. Although, It could just be a desperate last attempt to keep the magazine going, but is ultimately its death knell.

I hope that is not the end as it is a magazine I enjoy reading and it would be a shame. Maybe a shake up and a new direction is what it needs?

I think Fangoria were having problems, and print mags are struggling across the board.

In the case of Fango, I have it on good authority that they're over most of their problems and aren't going anywhere (which is great news imho)

In terms of other magazines, Rue Morgue is one of the best on the market...

Not strictly horror, but I would recommend Paracinema magazine.
It's cheap to get a subscription to, and they deal with all sorts of cult film.
It's a dead good read and Matt Suzaka (of Chuck Norris Ate My Baby) is a regular contributer along with many other movie bloggers.

You should all check it out.

The only I place I know that used to stock it was Borders. I haven't managed to get hold of a copy over here since they closed down.

You can buy issues from the Rue Morgue website, but including postage a single issue comes to about $15 (US). It may be cheaper for multiple copies. It has always been on the expensive side as its shipped from Canada, and cost £7-8 even when it was in Borders.

FAB Press sell Rue Morgue through their site for about £6 an issue, though I guess there'll be postage on the top.

Also I think the Cinema Store in London sells it.

I've subscribed to it for a couple of years so it works out a bit cheaper that way obviously...

Anyone heard any news on what's happening with The Darkside? There's not been an issue since late last year but subscribers received a letter at that time saying that the magazine was taking a break from publication but would be back "early in the new year", it's now April.

My remaining subs still covered quite a few issues so it's a bit worrying ..... If nobody's heard anything I'll contact them directly. ta!
