Annoyingly, it largely depends on the individual title (be ashamed, all those who didn't support HD-DVD where everything was region free ;) ) - some importers like Movietyme test titles on arrival and notify on their blog/Twitter/site, others like DVDWorldUSA make predictions based on distributor.

There's also sites like Blu-Ray Region info that detail too. Largely if wanting to predict, the ex-HD-DVD supporters make mainly Region Free discs, and Disney and Fox are mainly locked. But there's odd exceptions in many cases... the only distributor I can think of that makes 100% region free discs is Warner!

Although not as common as region-free DVD players, you can get multiregion Blu-Ray players too, eBuyer had a deal with a Foehn and Hirsch a few months back for under £60 delivered that is multiregion for Blu too! But you have to be careful with firmware versions as sometimes the ability can be removed by it, and newer releases of the same model may be affected in this way...

Yep shame on you none HD DVD supporters, it was region free and it fired the disc up straight away without loading times...

Above, fox and Disney are bastards for region coding, you can once again see the gap in theatrical and home releases widening over the pond... Not really important ones but it won't be long... Diary of a wimpy kid and marmaduke have hit the home market in the us while we're still waiting for the theatrical release. We probably won't see those on the home cinema market till quarter 4....

Won't be long before the bigger titles head that way... With region free DVD players being so cheap and easy to buy now, we saw worldwide releases now we're heading back down the regional release schedule route once again... Booooo

But back on topic.... 14 blades was great fun. I should have the blind side tomorrow :)

Sony strangled the HD DVD because they couldn't afford to loose having done so with Beta and Minidisc (who ever had that shit?). Blu Ray is very expensive, Asda want £22.97 for Centurion, no one will buy that.

I'm buying multiple copies of all the films on the DPP list.

Is anybody interested in borrowing them?

You're scared of mice and spiders, but oh-so-much greater is your fear that one day the two species will cross-breed to form an all-powerful race of mice-spiders, who will immobilize human beings in giant webs in order to steal cheese.

The movie fair was slim pickens this month, but i still managed to get POSTAL 2 disc for £10 and killer klowns from outer space and bloody birthday for a £5 for the both.

I ALMOST picked up the HOUSE PARTY trilogy for a £10 and HANZEL AND GRETAL for £7 in HMV. and got 'pineapple express' for £3.
