Can(nes)fantastic!

Post by DoctorKaren »

Hi guys,

This post is brought to you by a bad case of Cannes envy. (Grrr. Stoopid lectures!)

Whether you were there or have been feeding fevered dreams from reports on the web, which of the festival's films have particularly pricked your interests and why?
Forum moderator, university Film Studies lecturer and movie journalist for mags including Little White Lies, Scream, Fangoria and the FrightFest eMagazine. I'm the one shaking and screaming at every screening.

Looking over the Official Selection page the films that tug at me the most are The Skin I Live In which looks like a modern day 'Eyes Without A Face' and Sleeping Beauty, even though I'm not the hugest fan of Emily Browning.

Well since you ask...

My favourite at this year's Cannes was 'Rabies', and the one I most wish I'd seen but couldn't was 'Julia X'.

Just barely recovering from the festival now... :)

I'd go catch Rabies at the EIFF if I knew it wasn't gonna be at FF this year.

Two weeks till first few titles are announced. Can't wait.

Ian - I hear you spent yesterday in the company of my friend Vikki, you and Nick trying to lead her astray. Naughty
