Yeah, very strange behaviour from Smith. He's alienating the very grassroots film bloggers who might support a film like Red State.

Noooo there was a press screening yesterday or rather there wasn't as Mr Smith so kindly cancelled all of EOne's hard work and labelled the press and Bloggers freeloading good for nothings who only go to these things because they're free.

Being a fan of Mr Smith and nearly having spent another £100 on a hotel and an extra £30 on travel for the privilage to see the press screening, I think I woulda been mightily pissed off by his assumption considering folks like us, we review film because we like film and most of the stuff we watch, we pay for anyways....

Had I made the choice to stay I woulda sent an invoice for time, hotel and travel... with a copy of my severly suffering bank balance.

I won't be wasting any time or money on what he does next... He kinda alienated the fan I gave the press screening invite to as well ...

The Funhouse is out on Monday on Blu!

I love it more each time I see it. Here's my review of the film, it's a bit spoilerific so if you haven't seen it I'd go check it out first - http://www.eyeforfilm.co.uk/reviews.php?film_id=20393

Just watched the Korean thriller: "The Man from Nowhere". Not a horror film but a pretty cool all the same. Watched Sharktopus before it.

I found myself liking it despite having no idea why it was made. (The film, I mean, not the shark-octopus hybrid.)

Just put myself through a bleak hillbilly double with The Lost followed by White Lightnin'. Yee-haw.

Both were very good but not exactly a barrel of laughs, ended up watching The Task just for some light relief.

Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, probably the worst movie I've seen this year at the cinema.

Just watched Drive Angry and enjoyed it for what it is, slick American trash.

I watched it in good old fashioned 2D, does anybody think films like this are worth the headache of wearing novelty glasses?

I really don't like 3D films. Going to see Harry Potter in 2D tonight. I wear glasses, so wearing another pair on top is very uncomfortable. Even if that was not the case, I find 3D distracts from the film; you are watching effects not the movie itself.

Anyway, watched Grotesque on blu-ray last night. I haven't been deeply disturbed or whatever the BBFC feared would happen to people who watch this so that's one good thing. It had the possibility of being a very effective horror film but never made it. It is interesting to compare it with Martyrs which is an astonishing film on all levels. Grotesque, despite its gore, is simply boring.

Saw Harry Potter yesterday. We weren't prepared to pay the prices being charged in Leicester Square so went out to Angel. I absolutely loved it. I spent about two thirds of the film howling my eyes out, ten minutes physically cheering and a further fifteen laughing my socks off. The nice thing was that I wasn't the only one doing it. The film finished to applause. It was absolutely cracking.

(Disclaimer: this is very much my personal opinion because I am a soppy so and so. The 'objective' version is that while I think it is the best of the series, there are simply too many things that are left unexplained. I've read the books but had to pulled up to speed by my Potter-head hubby.)

You're scared of mice and spiders, but oh-so-much greater is your fear that one day the two species will cross-breed to form an all-powerful race of mice-spiders, who will immobilize human beings in giant webs in order to steal cheese.
