The Nanny state in the UK rides again like the massive hypocrite that it is. While the propaganda machine of the mainstream media in the form of newspapers and television, riddled with psychos and paedophiles act as the mouthpiece for governments, corporations, banks and the wealthiest families on earth, who set up wars, cause starvation, murder and abuse millions of people all around the world not to mention the damage and poisoning of the natural world and the animals inhabiting it and then on British television we are subjected to gross adverts from the NSPCC where children are encouraged to talk about their private parts (as soon as I saw it my skin crawled) in an attempt to sexualise the image of young children and condition viewers into thinking that small children and sex go together behind the mask of a charity to help abused children, the BBFC dare to tell fully grown people that they can't watch a horror film which even in its truest form does not have any connection to the sick garbage mentioned above that we are subjected to on a daily basis.

All of the pointless bodies that exist in this country to tell us what to do are devoid of any moral high ground and are sick themselves for being complicit in the distortion of truth by not speaking out against this crap.

BBFC- YOU ARE FULL OF SH*T !

Well, hang on a minute - we don't know. The BBFC doesn't actually have any sway over FrightFest: the decisions over SPIT 1 and SERBIAN were made by Westminster Council. Most of the time they don't query what's shown but they said that in those two specific cases they'd only allow the films in BBFC versions. This "festival cut" might actually be longer than the standard version: it may have required edited for an R in the States but we* might be getting the whole thing. There's no mention of the BBFC's input beyond the speculative.

*I say "we", I mean "you"; I'll be either in the Disco Screen, the Phoenix or back in bed. :)

Quite. That entire article is based on speculation.

Currently there's no record on the BBFC's website of ISOYG2, cut or otherwise.

Hi all.

I heard they submitted a version with different takes of certain scenes that would have likely been cut. This was to avoid anything actually being taken out as the Festival didn't want to show a film that had been cut. I don't really have a problem with this personally, depending on what was changed.

This is what I heard off one of the guys anyway.

I applaud BabyJaneHudson for that rant - entirely my feelings, especially when it comes to the NSPCC - we are entering a new age of puritanism.

But I have no intentions of seeing this film, cut, or not as streetrw level-headedly pointed out.

I'm sure we'll be informed if cuts are the case, and if the council does get wind of it, then the mood is right for another populist wave of censorship

The real question here is, does anyone actually want to see I Spit on Your Grave 2 cut or otherwise?

Must admit. As much as I rated the first film and Sarah Butler's performance, I have no urge to see this at all.
It was an easy choice between this and "Wither" TBH.

Yep, what it means is get up extra early to get Wither or Willow Creek tickets, though as these will both be 2nd showings their might be less competition.

If Westminster Council gets involved then they are full of it too if the changes aren't dealing with the extreme. However, I could understand it with the Serbian Movie as it was terrible. What I mean by that is, it seemed to be a movie where the people involved thought, ok how low can be go with the porn idea and chuck it all in for maximum effect. The story was obvious and the idea that it was anything more than sick for the sake of being so, is giving it may more credit than it deserves in my opinion. A comment on the brutality of the serbian war - hardly. I love twisted movies, but this one was just empty - I got nothing out of watching it.

I have seen the trailer for I Spit 2 and it doesn't look as good as the first one. Willow Creek and Wither look much more interesting to me and I will be desperately trying to get into either one of these on Sunday.

I will be watching it, and although certainly not in my top 10, I am looking forward to it.

I loathe the BBFC. I tend to automatically presume everything I see in public is heavily cut. Which it often is, but then on the rare occasion I get to see an uncut version on the big screen it's a nice surprise :)

Given the choice between ISOYG2 and Wither I would choose Wither every time, but I'm hoping to catch that on Friday. Even then, it was a tough call between ISOG2 and Willow Creek. I have to admit; I'm a little concerned about the arrangement of the films. It seems to be that a large portion of the discovery screen films are far stronger and more popular than the main screen films. Especially Wither, Stalled and Willow Creek. I hope I don't miss out on them! I mean, this just my opinion, but there are 2-3 films that quite frankly do not belong on the main screen, and could probably be swapped over.
