Re: How Film4 FrightFest will work in 2014
Just spent 25 minutes on the phone to be told cant book tickets over the phone. Really annoyed. Plus website has crashed.
Re: How Film4 FrightFest will work in 2014
Happens every time with any big event, not just FrightFest.
I'm going to start a company that deals in high volume website traffic and stop this fucking farce every time - it's not like they didn't know there was going to be this much traffic.
IT idiots

Just to confirm what others have been saying: I finally got through on the phones and was told they can't sell festival passes over the phone. Website is still broken; they say it's the weight of traffic.
Jeez - how hard can it be to give someone £340?!

Yeah - it's not seriously high volume though. It's not like millions of people are attempting to use it...
It's just poor planning (on behalf of Vue - obviously not FF).

Has anyone managed to buy a festival pass online yet?

I've had the same. Call back in an hour, they said.
I have to say Vue's customer service leaves a lot to be desired too. 35 minute wait to get no answer at all, not so much as an apology.

Must say - doesn't bode well for the festival after also hearing people complain about the lengthy bag security checks at other Frightfest events !!!
Lets hope the boys kick their asses over this

I had the same response. Judging by the entries on this forum, twitter, and facebook... I don't think anybody has got a ticket online yet.danvestite wrote:I've had the same. Call back in an hour, they said.

I know the previous issues were due to the availability of Vue IT staff on weekends, but it looks like little has changed.
I bet Alan, Paul, and (especially) Ian are throwing respective tantrums at the Vue management by now!
Click and refresh all day now... Bloody Hell!
Re: How Film4 FrightFest will work in 2014
There is no incentive for Vue to anticipate the web or call volume. It is not so great that it will affect their other sales, it's only day and festival passes that are halted. The Festival passes will eventually all sell out, that is a given, it is highly unlikely that they will lose FF any revenue because of the difficulty we have in booking. So all that happens is we get predictably frustrated, wasting our time, trying to book tickets for the best seats, that will sell eventually whatever happens.
Although I'm sure we will collectively make our disappointment known, it will be hard to do so without upsetting the wrong people.

Just out on twitter from Vue ...
Thanks for your patience with the #F4FF14 issues. We’re seeing huge traffic which is causing outages. We’re working on it!

Also seems to be a bit of a cheek Vue charging a £1.50 booking fee after I spent over £3 waiting on the phone....
