Re: Disco screen line ups
COHERENCE is showing as part of The Duke's takeover on Saturday - lots of hype for that one, I'm gutted I have to miss the Saturday.

Re: Disco screen line ups
How do I actually get tickets for the Discovery screens? I have a festival pass, but would love to see Wolf Creek 2...
Cheers

Re: Disco screen line ups
Your Festival pass gives you access to Disco screen tickets. You will need to pick up a ticket for the film you want to see by presenting your fest pass. Waiting on an announcement of how it's exactly going to work.JimmyTheZeke wrote:How do I actually get tickets for the Discovery screens? I have a festival pass, but would love to see Wolf Creek 2...

Re: Disco screen line ups
We were told this morning before the free movie. It's my first time going so I don't know the name of the guy that was explaining it unfortunately but the general idea I got was this:JimmyTheZeke wrote:How do I actually get tickets for the Discovery screens? - When we bought our passes, we were issued with a separate receipt with a bar code on. This is our 'Discovery Screen Ticket'.
- Each evening, at around 6pm, the tickets for the following day's Discovery Screen movies become available.
- To get the tickets, we scan the bar code into one of the ticket collection machines and either pick or are automatically issued a seat.
I don't know if this is going to be the same system for day pass holders or anyone else but that's how it was explained to everybody this morning.

^^^^
That is more or less how I understood it.
No more early morning queuing, tiny bit more of a sleep/recovery.

Re: Disco screen line ups
Any expansion on how this will work for day passes would be appreciated. Hope its not another online system after yesterday... sounds like we'll be queueing at the cinema from 6pm the night before then I guess... (oh well might be an excuse to get an extra film in the night before.)

So the queuing will move from the early morning to mid-afternoon by the sound of it. At least it does't mean an extra early start to get tickets and the increased capacity of the Disco screens should make getting tickets easier.GrimEffigy wrote:- Each evening, at around 6pm, the tickets for the following day's Discovery Screen movies become available.

Re: Disco screen line ups
Slightly worried it'll jam the lobby up every evening and make me miss my 6pm movie (or, worse, have to leave a movie early to get them) but I'm sure I'll be thankful for the extra sleep.DJBenz wrote: So the queuing will move from the early morning to mid-afternoon by the sound of it. Re: Disco screen line ups
Yeah, but hopefully the extra capacity of the screens will negate the need to queue. Disco screens at The Empire were around 50 seats IIRC, at Vue they're 200-300 apparently?GrimEffigy wrote:Slightly worried it'll jam the lobby up every evening and make me miss my 6pm movie (or, worse, have to leave a movie early to get them) but I'm sure I'll be thankful for the extra sleep.

Re: Disco screen line ups
Grrr, who's idea what it to put THE HOUSE AT THE END OF TIME in Disco 1 up against ANOTHER in Disco 2?
House = "heady mix of THE OTHERS, H.P. Lovecraft and old school Mario Bava"
Another = "Calling all fans of Dario Argento, giallo, The Hammer House of Horror, Lucio Fulci and Mario Bava, this one’s for you."
I can't be the only Mario Bava fan who wants to check out both!

Re: Disco screen line ups
I know it's a really cheeky answer and not really in spirit of the big-screen viewing, but if it helps lean towards a decision then The House At The End Of Time is available on Blu-Ray with English subtitles from Amazon Spain for under 10 Euros (plus shipping)

Re: Disco screen line ups
i usually but individual film tickets as i don't have the time to be able to see everything. will individual tickets for the discovery films go on sale at the same time as for the ones for the main screen? thanks.
