Halloween

Post by Alex J »

A bona-fide, hugely influential classic. Sadly now showing its age, possibly due to it being on the big screen or maybe after watching a couple of news films immediately beforehand. It is also difficult to ignore the sequels, rip-offs, homages and parodies that have followed, but nonetheless it is a well-told, effective shocker, even if the plot itself is fairly rudimental. 9 / 10
No tears, please. It's a waste of good suffering.

The new Halloween film looks like it's going to basics, John Carpenter is back on board with Jamie Lee Curtis

9/10. New restoration of arguably the most influential slasher of all time. Great to finally see this genuine classic on the big screen, where it was meant to be seen.
