Recommendations 2018
Recommendations 2018
As a New-be to Frightfest , I plan to see about 10 films during Friday , Saturday and Sunday. Before individual tickets go on sale any recommendations for the films I should see.
Re: Recommendations 2018
Welcome.
It's kind of a difficult one to pick out titles with nothing to go on (plus many of the films are unknown quantities at this point). Give us five of your favourite horror movies from recent years and we might be able to guide you more accurately?

In the last 5 years favourite horrors have been
It Follows
I saw the devil
The babadook
Raw
The Wailing
A Quiet Place
Extreme horror like Martyrs and Inside are a favourite.
Probably doesn’t give you a lot to go on, but any ideas?

Re: Recommendations 2018
I'd check out FrightFest: Beneath the Dark Heart of Cinema at PCC on the Friday morning. Mainly cos I'm in it
Puppet Master: Littlest Reich - I hear this one is gory.
Boar - looks like fun
Upgrade - is going to be a highlight for this year fest.
Plenty of others on offer.

Always good to get warnings of films to avoid too
Funnily enough, I'm in it too and I get the last word. I would avoid it as well. You will learn nothing.

Given some of the more unusual titles you list I'd recommend Tiger Are Not Afraid
And I'd echo the support for TERRIFIED

Re: Recommendations 2018
I've recently interviewed the puppet designer of Puppetmaster and I'm defo psyched to see that one... Sound like Craig Zahler has had a ball fucking shit up with the screenplay
Re: Recommendations 2018
The Witch in the Window is not bad, if you like haunted house stories etc.
The only discovery films I'm going to try and get this year are Possum, Tigers, The Devil's Doorway, The Tokoloshe and Our House. Usually try and get a lot more than that but think main screens look pretty good this year.
On main screens looking forward to Puppet Master, Boar, Braid, Hitler/Bigfoot, Most Assassinated Woman, Upgrade, Terrified... a few more probs.
