Yep, we're still in Cannes and everything is winding down here... The Croisette is less busy than last year and the market is pretty quiet as well. Most of the American companies we were expecting to meet here haven’t travelled over and everyone is cutting costs and choosing the healthier (read cheaper) option in dining, accommodation etc. and so have we. Alan has made some marvellous Pasta Bolognese and the sandwich section of the local super market has become very familiar. The film that most perplexed me was THIRST, I really enjoyed Christopher Smith’s TRIANGLE and the most intriguing trailers I watched were AND SOON THE DARKNES and Eli Roth’s production COTTON. I can’t wait to see the completed films. Now we are off to the infamous FantasticFest karaoke party at the American beach pavilion and the party notoriously might last until the dusk so I had better grab the bull by the horns and head to the last night of Cannes mayhem. Until the next time... Jo. |
