The Noughties, the new millenial age of low-rise jeans, early social media and flip phones. And Iranian teen Yasamin Karimi is desperate to fit in at her new high school. She dyes her hair blonde and takes numerous actions to blend in so she can earn the approval of the school queen bee, Rachel Stanford. But the more Yasamin tries to absorb and understand the unfamiliar mindset, the more she becomes consumed by a dark entity. Blending horror with heart, FOREIGNER explores the terrifying cost of assimilation and the haunting power of an identity denied.
