I'm sat somewhere in row F if I'm not mistaken. My better half sorted outt he tickets this year so I can't remember for sure where she said we were sat. Accomodation and trains booked too! Only a month to go...

Re: films we just saw
Picked up some foreign titles from Blockbuster to watch- Dogtooth - pretty cold and clinical but darkly amusing in places and intriguing enough to hold my attention. Pretty good. Mother - fantastic acting from all involved and a nicely different spin on a detectice story. Excellent. Plus I have Rec ...

Re: anyone else tired of crappy remakes ?
There's a simple way to get around crappy remakes. Don't watch them at the cinema or on DVD. The studios will eventually get tired of them not making money and stop producing them. You can't blame them for dishing them out if you pay money to watch them.

Re: Last Exorcism
No, you're not. I didn't have a problem with the ending at all. Yes, it came out of the blue somewhat, but if they'd hinted at it beforehand it would have spoiled the surprise.lisy-babe wrote:So I'm the only one that liked the 'open to interpretation' ending?
Re: Dead Cert
My better half says that all she could think of for the duration that we watched the film was the 'injurylawyers4u' advert. Having now seen that advert, I can see her point.

Re: Damned By Dawn
After a promising first half hour, Damned By Dawns quality unfortunately went downhill pretty quickly once the CGI ghosts turned up. Plus, like some of you other guys, I couldn't understand the 'Evil Dead 4' tag. It didn't have anywhere near the crazy sense of homour to be classed as that.

Re: I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE
It was great watching this with a FF audience. The revenge kills went down a storm. Whether I'd enjoy this as much if I saw it whilst sat at home is debatable though. I think viewing it with a roomful of like-minded people is definately the way to see this.
Re: Red Hill
Whilst being on the very boundaries of 'horror' this was a very well made film. Decent acting, interesing story and very watchable. I thought it was way better than the program blurb made it sound.
Re: Monsters
I loved this film. Yes, it was a totally different style of film to ISOYG beforehand, but thats whats great about the FF - they show a wide range of films. Monsters was beatifully shot and raised some good talking points. Will definately be going to see it again.
Re: 13 Hrs
I dozed off near the start of this, which says it all really. Although, I did wake up in time to see Gemma Atkinson blow her own head off.

Re: Alien vs Ninja
Like a gory 'Power Rangers' if the alien costumes are anything to go by. Shitty TV show comparisons aside, it was as to be expected. Stupid, bloody fun and ideal for the late night slot.
Re: Primal
A pleasant surprise. Way better than I was expecting it to be. Nothing particularly original, but good fun nonetheless.
Re: Dead Cert
Through all the years my better half and I have been going to the Frightfest we've yet to leave during a film (even Bubbas Chilli Parlour and ZWOS) but we couldn't make it past the 20 minutes mark for this. I'm not proud of leaving part-way through but I just couldn't stick it out. Sorry.
