Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015

"desolate hotels" !! Yup. Our hotel was the princely sum of £85 for the night. I expect it's about 2 miles from the cinema (actually, I'm surprised, google maps says 1.1 miles) and will be a complete dive, but we're only going Sat-Sun this year, so it's just a place to crash :)

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015

With the news about the medical conference apparently making hotel accommodation difficult this year I don't know what to do. Still not confident to book hotel accommodation for 4 people before getting the tickets.... It may be untested for FF, but the boys have said it's a system capable of handli...

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015

Well I for one am really happy with the prices. We missed last year so I was fully expecting this year's day passes to have shot up in the interim. But £60 per day for Sat/Sun is great, and I get a lie-in on the sale day (I'm sure it started at 9am one year didn't it, or am I misremembering?). Eithe...

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015

Whatever happens with the way ticketing goes down, I've finally got my shit together and sorted out a hotel.

FrightFest, after a year off, I can't wait to come back!!! :green:

Re: FrightFest 2015 dates for you diary

I've already posted my thoughts in the FF Suggestions sub, but as I said there, the idea of pre-registering/password access a day early, either instead of or as well as sleepy queue in-person purchases is appealing in terms of something for the 'fans'. I hesitate to use that word because most huge b...

Re: Is Frightfest becoming 'trendy'?

I actually have nothing useful to add; I'm just sad that the rest of this thread didn't continue with the comedy, posts of Benz and the hilarious replies from the OP which have had me snorting into my desk for the past few minutes.

Re: Ticket payment options?

Having some kind of password for forum users seems to me potentially even more 'elitist' than the sleepy queue. So if I'm not a forum regular I don't get to go - having attended every fest since it started :-) I wasn't clear in my suggestion. The password is time-boxed, so would only be usable for ...

Re: Ticket payment options?

The only thing that concerns me about buying tickets with a preorder code/farming it out to ticket venues, is will we still be able to choose our screen and the seat that we want to sit in? A few people have picked up on this, but I don't see how it's any more of a problem with an event/ticketing v...

Re: Ticket payment options?

Hi Ian, I'm glad to know that this has given you and the guys some food for thought, because that's how it was meant to come across - not as an arseholey moaning suggestion because I missed out on attending last year. That was our own cashflow problems, and nothing to do with ticketing. But it had j...

Re: Ticket payment options?

Counter-counter proposal! A pre-sale password for forum members only, similar to that which big bands do for tour dates. I just got my Foos tickets that way a few days ago :green: So, everything online, like you say, but with the option of sleepy queue regulars/others to be able to log in a few hour...

Re: Ticket payment options?

That's fair enough, but there's nothing to say that in-person Sleepy Queue tickets couldn't be released on the day before general sale, with the general sale being put through a central ticket seller rather than a cinema's own site. I just think it'd make attendance, for some people, a much more of ...

Ticket payment options?

It's become increasingly popular over the past few years - probably thanks to Glastonbury - for music festivals to offer payment options on their ticket prices: Early Bird, installment payments, deposits, and so on. We sadly couldn't make FF2014 because of money issues this year, which was a royal p...

Re: How Film4 FrightFest will work in 2014

Please please please if any kind festivaller/organiser can give a heads-up tomorrow on ticket availability and likelihood of sell-out that would be great. There's literally no way I can afford to buy tomorrow because of a music festival commitment in a couple of weeks, and like I said elsewhere I wa...

Re: How Film4 FrightFest will work in 2014

It would be nice to have a forum-heads up on how many tickets are still available, if possible. So many people sound disappointed at the moment, but if there's enough to go round without it being a free-for-all on Wednesday at noon, then surely that'll alleviate any undue pressure on the already sli...

Re: How Film4 FrightFest will work in 2014

(Just hoping that as much of the content makes its way to the Cambridge Film Festival as did last year in their FrightFest strand, where I might at least catch something the following week, albeit without the same atmosphere.) You and me both! That's a good point which I'd forgotten - at least ther...
