any thoughts on the promo footage from the documentary?
by the way it was very much a work in progress one time only screening and will eventually be a 90 minute film and 4 or 5 one hour episodes

Love. It's going to be an incredibly stacked piece when all's done. A mighty achievement indeed.

Was it an actual "chunk" of the film or a bunch of "taster" snippets temporarily edited together?

I love a good horror documentary and look forward to seeing the final thing. Completely disagreed with the guy who said something to the effect that Euro horror is fantasy based and never deals with hard reality. Not only did the European films screened at this year's FF put the lie to that (for better or worse) but, sorry hello, Hitchcock, Peeping Tom, Franju, Pete Walker. I could go on. Which is great that's the point of a thing like this, to provoke debate.

snippets - some will be in the finished piece some not. the stuff screened is but a couple of percent of the amount of content we have - around 100 interviews covering a lot of ground, most if not all not shown in the footage

Oh and Gullermo's comment about drawing the line at making a snuff movie, gotta love that man.

Good! The reason I asked was that it seemed to jump around from topic to topic rather rapidly and randomly, but I didn't want to say that and cause offence!

Definitely a good taster - I am hoping for a box set with extras and bits of interviews you have to miss out.

Del Toro proving how much he rocks again, looks like it'll be pretty awesome when complete, will be looking forward to seeing the whole version!
