The Duke is homeless! Yes sadly we found out today that our beloved home, The Cross Kings, is closing next Friday. Which puts us without a venue, we're currently looking for a new place, but if anyone knows of a decent pub, club, room, anywhere in central'ish London do let us know! Got to be FREE as well...

Hi everyone, we have a new venue! Still in Kings Cross we're now at the Kings Cross Soical Club and on Tuesday nights. Full details below, along with all the info about our next night!

The Duke Mitchell Film Club presents:

80s Action Night

TUESDAY 27th July 2010

Doors Open 7PM - Films Start 8PM

Some important housekeeping:- The Duke has moved - our new home for the time being is:

The King's Cross Social Club

The address is:

2 Brittannia Street
Kings Cross
WC1X 9JE

Google Maps: http://bit.ly/du0E3l

Our new venue is less than 5 minutes away from Kings Cross station and is in the shadow of the legendary Scala Cinema!

Now on with our planned programme:

As the August release date of the brilliant-looking ‘The Expendables’ draws near, The Duke dedicates July to celebrate the brilliance of 80’s action films.

The over-the-top excesses of the decade are brought to life in the brilliant but sadly forgotten Gary Busey classic ‘EYE OF THE TIGER’ Trust us when we say that this film sums up 80’s perfectly and is one crazy throwback to the days when action films knew how to push all the right buttons! Plus it really does feature that tune!

Other than Gary Busey and his vendetta, The Duke will also feature a brilliant quiz testing your knowledge of all things 80’s action, a hair-raising soundtrack featuring the entire raise your fists anthems of the genre, an amazing poster galley as well as an amazing short.

So come on down to The Duke’s new home on TUESDAY 27th July 2010 and experience a night like no other!

This year, The Duke Mitchell Film Club 3rd Birthday Party guarantees you to take you the edge...and beyond:
