The Dyatlov Pass Incident

Post by jonbly »

7/10 - Severe wobble-cam issues in the middle, but otherwise pretty good.

Agree, good 3/5 star B-movie fun.

Full review here: http://www.electric-shadows.com/the-dya ... -incident/

Also interviewed Gemma Atkinson and Holly Goss today. Both charming and fun and with good movie taste, at one point conversation got onto The 'burbs!

I really enjoyed this even though I hadn't planned to see it (missed out on a For Elisa ticket). Undemanding and fun, and it didn't really matter that half the subtitles had fallen off :D.

turned out much better than I thought it'd be - the supernatural/scientific storyline at the end really improved it and took it above most found footage crap 7/10

Got nothing out of this one apart from a numb bum. Should be renamed The Dilated Ass Incident.

Enjoyable and engrossing story inspired by true, unexplained events from 1959, with the film portraying a present day investigation into the incident. Reminded me a little of "The Chernobyl Diaries". I did start to get a little sceptical about the proposed explanation behind the events, but it fitted together nicely by the end, with a pleasing conclusion. 7 / 10
No tears, please. It's a waste of good suffering.

Better than expected,

Although suffered from missing subs in some of the Russian dialogue sections and I dont just mean where the projectionist had the aspect ratio wrong and cropped off the top and bottom of the screen so that second line of subs was always missing.

This would have been a perfectly decent horror movie if they'd let Renny Harlin direct it as Renny Harlin, rather than a film student who's got about as much chance of being a proper film maker as I have of being in The Expendables 3. Harlin made Cliffhanger, Die Hard 2, Elm Street 4 and Cutthroat Island, and Dyatlov Pass looks like it was shot by my mum. Enough with the lame found footage gimmick which is entirely pointless in this case - it would have been so much better as a film.

Hi all,

Here's an interview I did with Gemma Atkinson and Holly Goss on TDPI at this year's FrightFest. Both were great, with Gemma Atkinson demonstrating a really good movie knowledge. And, want to know which superheroes they'd most like to play? All in here...
