We Are What We Are
Re: We Are What We Are
Quality stuff and I loved the original. I'm loathe to compare the two as this is such a different treatment and should be judged in its own right. It was worth it just to hear Michael Parks say "Did you eat my daughter?" at the end. The film this most reminds me of in style and tone (and the ending) is Alfedson's 'Let The Right One' and that's praise indeed. 9/10

It is what it is.

A very good remake, although really more of a new film using the core idea from the original. Good performances generally, a solid enough storyline and a satisfying, unexpected ending. Definitely worth watching, although the slow burning pace may put off some, while if you haven't seen the original then it doesn't matter as the two as so different they won't spoil the other. 8.5 / 10
No tears, please. It's a waste of good suffering.
