The Borderlands

Post by mamawaldi »

I went into this small budget Brit found footage horror with low expectations but was very pleasantly surprised. The early scenes establishing the characters are natural and occasionally very funny, the creeping tension is well realised and the finale is well paced and staged. Ok there are occasional moments of low budget shonkiness (the classic 200 year old journal of exposition) but other touches (ie the use of headcams meant that the story could be told from a multi-person perspective and kept nausea inducing shakiness to a minimum) left it superior to 95% of the found footage crud out there.
