Dark Encounter

Post by jonbly »

7/10 - Well made, but... odd. The twist seemed to leave the audience somewhat baffled. Interesting but not really enjoyable.

Some suspenseful and effectively bewildering scenes and in some ways I appreciated the twist, but I felt the ending was overlong and the film was too mawkish at times. So some good elements, but overall the film didn't hang together as well as I would have liked. 6 / 10
No tears, please. It's a waste of good suffering.

Interesting premise, good effects bar the aliens looking like giant academy award statues.

Laura Fraser seemed to have had a personality by-pass for this role and I don't mean that as a compliment in the way she played a grieving mother as the rest of the cast seemed to portray flesh well unlike the highly wooden Fraser.

Overly long but inoffensive.
