The Canal
I nearly passed this up to watch The Den, and am very glad I didn't. Looked lovely but took a while to get going (or alternatively, lulled audience into false sense of security by being frustratingly slow and formulaic at the start) and turned into a real cracker with great jump scares and solid performances from pretty much all involved. Fab addition to the haunted house shelf, and the first I've seen in ages which left me feeling as if I'd had a proper fright .
Re: The Canal
You made the right choice, The Canal is far superior to The Den. If you still want to see it it's on Netflix USA.
