FILM4 FRIGHTFEST is the UK's premiere fantasy and horror film festival. Now in its tenth year, each August thousands of genre fans gather together in the heart of London's West End at the prodigious Empire Cinema for five packed days of premieres, previews, personal appearances, signings and surprises.

Film4 FrightFest is Go! The stellar programme is announced. The World and UK premieres are stacked up. The Discovery strand is something new and something we’re immensely proud of. And our guests have been invited. Read more.

image001THE CINEMA With FrightFest 2009 fast approaching and passes and tickets on sale soon, we thought you may like to have a look at our new home, The Empire Cinema. In the heart of London's West End the cinema is just 100 yards from our former home at the Odeon West End. The first thing you will notice about the Empire is its size. It's huge. Equipped with the latest projection and sound kit, the cinema has the largest screen in the UK. The seats are comfortable, rock and have heaps of leg room. Click on the graphic on the left and take a 360 degree tour of the auditorium.

FRIGHTFEST TICKET PRICES for the 10th anniversary edition of the FILM4 FrightFest to be held at London's Empire Cinema between the 27th and the 31st of August have been announced. Full details of ticket types, availability and prices can be found by clicking here.

THE LATEST FRIGHTFEST WEB SITE UPDATES were added on the 29th of June. Three new blogs in Blog Central, a new Critical-Al review and the latest instalment of The News. In the run up to our films being announced on the 3rd of July, tickets going on sale on the 4th of July, expect almost daily updates including more pictures in our annual guess the film competition.

DRAG ME TO HELL event with guests Sami Raimi, Alison Lohman and Justin Long was held on the 26th May at the ICA on the Mall in London. A large audience of FrightFesters turned out to see Sami introduce Drag Me To Hell and return with stars Alison Lohman and Justin Long for a Q&A. Video from the event can be seen here and photos will be posted soon.

FRIGHTFEST WANTS YOUR FILMS but it's to late for FrightFest 2009. Submissions closed on the 1st of June. FrightFest now hosts three events a year. The main August festival in London, our Annual All-Nighter at the ICA in London in October and our expanding scarefest in Scotland as part of the Glasgow Film Festival each February. To accommodate these events we will be implementing a rolling submission process in the next few weeks. Please check back for details.
